How can people hate on Thurman?

    Just watched this video, and I may be partial; but seriously, I cant understand why people want this guy to fail? Hes extremely entertaining, will fight anyone, and says down with PPV because he wants to build a fan base. I love the attitude he brings to the sport, hes actually GOOD for kids to watch and learn from.........Also he is literate :hey

    It's because he's a bit odd. People see him as pretentious. Basically it's anti intellectualism, I think. He's not a salt of the earth everyman so he's not 'one of us'.

    He pretty much pulled a Canelo or dsg post fight interview and slapped everyone in the face, called us all liars.

    I like Thurman but every fighter gets hate from fight fans, some more than others. Most hardcore boxing fans are a pretty fickle bunch, if a fighter isn't fighting the guys you want him to fight then he's a fraud or coward, if he looks super ripped then he's on roids, if he gets knocked out then he has a glass chin. You know why kind bs gets posted on here every day.

    :patsch wait are you talking about when he went on the mic after beating porter and saying he thought he won, regardless of what the crowd thought? IMO he won by a round, but could have seen a draw. It was pathetic of the crowd that night to boo a guy who just won what many deem as a top pick for fight of the year

    Comes off as pretentious and runs sometimes in fights. He's just not my cup of tea.

    I had my doubts when he postponed the fight but I'll never doubt the guy again,what he did against Porter was pure class,I'm a fan.

    once you get good you get haters.

    thurman is a really good fighter. i thought porter fight was a draw.

    thurman keeps callin dsg out thurman better be careful. because thurman i think is having slight trouble makin 147 . there hasnt been any real indication that there is was or going to be a struggle to continue to make 147. just a hunch.

    and dsg is gunna fit into 147 better and better and has monster left hook.

    thurman can drain himself imo if he doesnt be careful .

    He talks too much.
    He has been hypocritical at times.
    He talked like he was a world beater before he had actually beaten anyone.
    He has "run" quite a lot in some of his fights.

    I don't hate him at all. These are just some observations.

    So then do you prefer someone who is vanilla as hell outside of the ring? Im pretty sure "Talks to much" because at this point in boxing, its better to be thought of than not, good or bad.

    When has he been hypocritical?
