It was a dirty and an unethical move. But it was legal. There are many unethical things in the world that are not considered illegal.
If Ortiz had KO'd Mayweather after Floyd had intentionally used his head throughout the fight people would actually forgive Ortiz and give him a pass.
Here's my problem with Cortez. If he had said "time in", then WTF was he looking at? He didn't see either punch land. Any way you slice it, Cortez f'd something up in there.
Cortez just turned to the timekeeper to make sure he had the time started, and was waiting on confirmation. That is is. In that short amount of time, Ortiz decided he wanted an extra hug. Mayweather gave a weak attempt at that, saw Ortiz like a deer in headlights, and took him out. End of story.
that is something for the NSAC to look into, it doesn't change the rules of the fight though (Protect yourself at all times)
You're lying to yourself in a feeble attempt to justify what you saw. Mayweather instigated the hug, clearly. That was no "sieze the day" moment. That was plotted and it was obvious.
What dumbass eats a left hook and then immediately looks to the ref for help? Ortiz should have covered up or clinched when he was hit with the left hook. Instead he walks back looking at the ref for help and leaves himself wide open for the right hand.
:deal It's the best way these floyds fanboys can distract from the actual outrage. They are either playing dumb, or really are dumb.
Cortez did NOT say TIME IN. Why do people keep repeating this? He said "Let's go!", which is no official command. He made a typical hand gesture that Ortiz might not have seen. Then he faces the timekeeper and flirts with him. I'm not sure if Ortiz was really aware of the fight being on again. But if you look at his idiot grin afterwards, I'm not sure he ever cared.
