Regardless of the punch being "technically" a legal shot the fact that Floyd hit Ortiz who clearly was not ready or aware was a sucker punch....it's a cheap as you can get without stepping out side the rules. Just because soemthing is legal...doesn't always make it right. Ortiz tried to spear Floyd with his head, which led to the events that saw him get knocked out. He was the root of the problem therefore Ortiz can't really complain.

But FANS and those invovled int he sport can. Floyd didn't have to do what he did....he could have extracted justice in a way that was more professional and would have gotten him a lot more respect.

No, I was comparing myself and Floyd. The dog and Ortiz are mere victims.

Am I unethical for doing a Floyd on the dog?

your example has NO relevance whatsoever to what happened last Saturday. You can't even compare the 2. They were there in the ring together to FIGHT. Both knew what they were for. Both of them had been given instructions just like they had dozens of times prior. Ortiz already apologized twice and touched gloves, HE took a step back and dropped his hands while time was in.

I actually can't believe that some people are defending Floyd. Yes I know they were legal punches (everyone who knows boxing knew while it was happening that it was legal), but that doesn't mean it was right. I think it's very simple and it doesn't require anymore explanation as to why it was cheap and ethically wrong. What I want to address is this stupid complex of people saying if it was Ortiz, or any other fighter, or if it wasn't Mayweather jr. he wouldn't be getting this much hate, etc... I say bull**** to that, I'm dissapointed with both fighters and I hope Ortiz doesn't get a rematch and builds his way back up.

But the thing is Floyd also deserves all the bad feedback. Ortiz found another way out of a fight and paid for being too damn friendly in a boxing ring, but that doesn't justify Mayweather lowballing him like that and suckerpunching him to the point he actually KO'D him. If the roles would've been reversed I would feel the same way I do about Floyd with Ortiz, what I'm actually questioning is if the people defending Floyd would also be defending Ortiz.
