Ree's hasn't got the same tools or talent or brings the same excitement Khan does to the ring I love the fact in a Khan fight it will 90% of the time be exciting because of his vulnerabilities, it's fun watching "Oooh will his chin take that shot" and the fact he has great heart in the ring as shown against Limond and Gomez. Lets face the Gomez and Limond fights prove what a great fighter Khan is, he comes back from being knocked down and hurt. He even tried it against Presscott, but that bravado got him KO'd.

The sad thing is under Roach Khans fights won't be as exciting because he's now working on defence, but I just want to see him get hit hard so we get some of that old Khan back, that made for great viewing.

I agree he didn't need to say it, but I believe he can say it and he has a right to, the amount of abuse he gets on the internet proves that, its not like hes got no evidence to it. It is partially down to him being Asian, Muslim , Pakistani but I believe anyone should just let it go, they can't change anything and hes in a far better position than many. He is an exciting fighter compared to some and that's why others just don't get that type of attention (Excitement is subjective to each individual so need to criticize).

Its the "I'd be a superstar..." bit that annoys me. Hang on, you've not beaten one great fighter yet are on PPV, all over the news non stop and filling arena's around the country, a bit of gratitude wouldnt go amiss. He's a brat.

Take a look at the world outside, with EDL, the Swiss referendum, the BNP winning Euro-elections while becoming increasingly anti-Islamic, then tell me part of the reason Khan gets stick isn't because of his colour and race.

Boxing fans might not like him because of his perceived arrogance and because he might lack the ability to become a true great but Joe Bloke in the pub tonight, unable to tell a glass jaw from a china doll, hoping "That fukkin Paki gets knocked out." Why might that be?

He didn't cheat Barrera did he, it was an accidental headbutt. Further when he mentioned fighting Morales it was along with Malignaggi, Diaz in the same sentence, he was just mentioning fighters with a name over in the US he could fight.

Yeah i found that bit funny too, he hasn't exactly done something superstar worthy that he needs world wide recognition.

    http://www.boxingnews24.com/2009/07/freddie-roach-wants-to-see-khan-fight-erik-morales/

‘im looking at maybe Erik Morales, when he makes his comeback. That is who I’d like to go against next, or guys of that nature. I have the new “Mexican Assassin” in Amir.’

    Disgusting. This was pre Kotelnik.

He never cheated Barrera personally but that fight and its ending stunk

“A guy like Juan Diaz (the former world lightweight champion) is a brilliant style for me. A guy like (Erik) Morales or Marquez at the end of next year. I’m ready for those guys now."

This was more recent, it's not like he is actually going to fight Morales, he isn't making a comeback.

''If Khans going to fight and essentially cheat one of boxings greats in Marco Antonio Barrera, then reveal its your intention to beat Morales then he deserves some sort of critism. (Thank God that fight with Morales is off)''

    My initial post.

I honestly think being Asian has helped his career more than hurt it. He's a very rare asian boxer to acheive success and I think the amount of press he's got is because of this, it makes him more of a big deal. Seriously, James DeGale won a gold medal and has got nearly no mainstream attention because people are used to black/mixed race boxers achieving success, same as white Frankie Gavin winning a world amateur gold and barely getting on the radar, Khan's got way more attention than he deserves all things considered. I do hope he enjoys being on American undercards where the incredibly tolerant American people will finally give him the love he deserves.

I think a lot of it is down to the fact that he has got to where he's at quite undeservedly.

He had already earned much more money than a lot of world champions before he even won the belt, he gets sparked out by Prescott and gets a title shot 2 fights later and the whole PPV and 'King Khan' bollocks doesn't exactly help things either.

A lot of the time the money and preferential treatment comes with winning an Olympic medal, Khan is just playing the game. Anyone upset by the "King Khan" publicity angle needs to get a life.
