No feeling out, no rest, all real action, action that is very appreciable at any level of boxing understanding. He would be an absolute terror for everyone at his best weight. Very few if any guys would be able to handle him comfortably, no fighter ever neutralizes his intensity a real guts and glory marauder in the ring.

This fight is one of my personal favourites. Fenech here is the epitome of pressure fighter he would give me an anxiety attack sharing the ring with him the real beauty is how much he does with that pressure all fight Marcos is either fouling, rushing his work or covering up and it's just brutal.

Fenech was a great fighter. One of the best if not the best gas tank of all time. Got robbed against another legend in Azumah Nelson. He unfortunately was never the same after that though.

If that is the case I don't blame him, there was a lot going on outside the ring on top of this but as stated I don't blame Jeff for his frustration with Nelson he always put it all out there he wasn't a "lazy" fighter who pecked and danced his way to a win he didn't have power to make it a quick night every match was a non stop grind and it takes a lot out of anyone and to be outright robbed like that after putting in all the sparring, Intense conditioning and making every round a real fight may have mentally folded him.

Fenech's skill is underrated imo. He's not some ATG boxer, but when you watch him here he always attempts to counter whilst he's slipping, and he rolls and defends pre-emptively after throwing shots too, such as jabs and hooks. He was an extremely good mauler and could make a little space go a long way. This is stuff that the supposed 'slick' skilled hyped boxers today don't actually do much of, even when forced to fight by an aggressor. In a way, Fenech is more multi-dimensional than them.

Emmanuel Steward actually thought pretty highly of Fenech too.

He was a beast. And I'll tell you he could box alot better then given credit for.
He applied what I call smart relentless pressure.
He beat so many world class fighters.

Fenech fights made our country stop whatever it was doing and watch. It helped that his career was mostly covered on free to air television.

I think what's lost in translation with a lot of fans Is just how fast he had to think in order to do what he does so well.

Taking nothing away from him as a fighter — he was excellent with god-tier conditioning and a motor that never stopped — but I don’t much enjoy watching him fight.

You’ve seen one Fenech fight and apart from maybe Azumah II you’ve seen them all. He pressures, crowds and throws in great volume. But you could put almost all his fights on a loop and stop the tape anywhere and it all looks the same.
