how can someone with that long of a win streak and that high of a ko% look so bad?

2017 Haye beats Wilder... let alone Parker and potentially AJ

 

I do know that Vlad knocked Wilder down with a jab and flattened Wilder with a left hook in camp sometime back, it was no contest, Vlad played with Wilder, beat him from one side of the ring to the other...................Vlad enjoyed sparring Wilder, but Wilder was not even good enough to be his sparring partner. Wilder has fought only winos from the alley!

 

Not an early stoppage. I posted on this subject on another thread. I re-watched it and at first Washington looked ok as he walked out of frame and I thought it might have been an early stoppage. Another poster set me straight by showing the stoppage from a different perspective. Washington walked off and then staggered to his left and went into the ropes. Good stoppage. He would have been hit several more times by Wilder and possible hurt badly.

The funny thing about wilder is he looks terrible when he's in exchanges, usually on the attack trying to end the fight. It's paid off for him thus far, but if and when he steps up the competition he will need to stay settled down when in exchanges. He definitely needs to learn to work behind the jab and set up his offense with the jab. I hate seeing fighters get a guy hurt and just throw caution to the wind and windmill punches. A calm steady approach that leads to a knock out is a thing of beauty.... just ask Trip G and Kovalev.

 

Well I havent seen it but when I reflect back to Wilders performance just gone and Wlads usual standards, I can see that totally happening. If Washington could box Wilder the way he did, just imagine the superior boxing skills of the more experienced Wlad! Wilder doesnt seem to have improved, he fights the same so Wlad can expect the same should they meet. Wilder might be more powerful than Wlad but superior boxing will win out.

 

Haye could beat him even now. I don't understand why David isn't chasing the fight, this would be the easiest money he's ever made.

Wilder looks horrendous against dreadful opposition.Just goes to show you how much influence the media has over the general public. They have cradled this infant and he still cannot impress because he lacks basic fundamentals. He'll be 100 and 0 if he continues to fight the Charlies of the world.

 

Wilder isn't the best skilled heavyweight, but what keeps him in the fight as a favorite is his game changing power. That will always be the case with Wilder where he could be losing a fight, but if he lands that one shot on you it could put your lights out! Hell always be in the fight.
