theres the "WBA World 140pd title" - Khabib Allakhverdiev theres the "WBA Super World 140pd title" - Danny Garcia theres the "interim WBA World 140pdtitle" - was to have been decided in a fight between Joan Guzman and Vicente Mosquera tonight. :huh
How can there be an interim title fight when theres already a champ in the division? Why was the super world title even created?
They even stated in a public notice in the past, [defending their action of handing Maidana an Interim belt right after he lost to Khan for the regular title and same week Khan defended his title], that they can and will create and hand out as many Interim belts as they please.
While posters point to championship belts as evidence that this fighter and that fighter are competent and 1st tier because they hold belts, I and many have been saying for awhile that winning mulitiple championship belts in differnt divisions is an indicator of nothing special. Fighters today climb and win made up trinkets division after division picking on the weakest link. When Michael Buffer announces, "the 8 time champion of the world" its all meaningless to me. ITS A JOKE!
What a joke of an organization. There are already too many sanctioning bodies. We don't need 100 belts per division. Do interim champions still pay the same sanctioning fee?
