YOUR personal subjective opinion on a fighter's skillset is not of huge importance in determining how high someone should be ranked in all-time pound-for-pound terms.

If you look at the black-and-white tangible factors:

    RESUME

    and

ACHIEVEMENTS (such as feats of weight-jumping)

then I fail to see a valid argument for ranking Mayweather higher at this stage in their respective careers.

If you decide your own all-time p4p lists with your opinion of their skillset as the main factor, then you would have a pretty ****ed up list.

    Thoughts?

At this point, I agree with you. I don't think there's a good argument for having Floyd ahead of Pacquiao P4P at this point. But then again, I don't give much credence to the head to head argument (if head to head actually worked, every boxing fan would make tons of money betting on fights, because they'd already know who would win).

I actually got into a big argument on another site about this the other day.

Your own h2h guess has nothing to do with an all-time p4p list. All-time p4p lists are based on real tangible factors like resume and weight-jumping, each person's own guesswork about who would or wouldn't win mean nothing. Hypothetical h2h's make for great discussions, but that's all it is - words and guesswork. That has no place in making a real list.

That's a fair comment. PBF-Pac will be the biggest fight since Hagler-Leonard in '87.

I do think this is a situation where Mayweather could beat Manny, and Manny remains ahead of him, both in terms of all-time and current P4P. Depends on how close the results are, but Mayweather's still the bigger guy, and his best two wins in higher weight classes are the same two guys that Pacquiao just finished beating much more convincingly.

You cannot rate floyd higher at this point.
Pac is a reckin' machine who is taking on all comers with his only dodge JMM but that's only because there is bigger money fights out there and he is hardly shying away by fighting DLH and the Hatton. (Plus he is ahead in H2H with JMM maybe he dont feel he needs to fight him again)

Now how about you make a post on how pac beats floyd?
For me I think roach will struggle to come up with a plan to beat floyd, even if manny can execute a great plan I think it will come down to how much smarter pac has become himself as a fighter and his ability himself to make changes in the fight.
You would need a good few plans to try to pin down floyd imo.
    Thoughts?

Then how could you rank Roy over Hop?.

I think you said H2H ability alone was one of the major reasons you had Roy ahead of Hop IIRC.

I dont especially if people are putting Manny ahead now based on the Hatton win. Floyd has victories over Pac's last 2 opponents and arguably better versions of them. I feel Pac only just edged Floyd after the Hatton victory and which the manner he did it in, their resume's are pretty even as a whole with Pac having the edge because of his last fight.

I expect Floyd to move ahead of him at the end of this year. I expect him to KO and dominate JMM in about 7 rds. Then i expect him to KO pac in 10 at the end of the year. That would put him over the top imo.

    You can't. Pac KO 6 Mayweather's resume/achievements.
