If i'm honest, even in a couple of years i don't see Degale being anywhere close to good enough to beat any of the current SMW major belt holders.

you also have to consider Martinez moving up to 168 in the future....

Waren took khan the easy route by getting the kotelnik fight, could he do that with degale in this super talented SMW division?

Degale is known to struggle for making weight, how would his skills fair at light heavy in a couple of years?

whats the answer? will he turn out to be a fringe contender or is he talented enough to give these guys a run for their money?

    thoughts?

    was kotelnik the easy route?

i wouldn't worry about throwing degale in with any of them 2 years down the road.

Haha, Kotelnik was arguably the hard route, the underrated ukranian

as for Degale, don't worry about him

for me kotelnik was the easy route, khan was always going to beat him for skill, technique, and speed, maybe not for heart and perseverance

kotenik for me was the easy route, thats why khan called him out, he needed someone who he could hit and then run from

you cant see Martinez coming up and taking that, or kessler when he comes back? taking that title would give these guys a fair bit of weight in a megafight contract in the future

but still good answer, no1 else wants to answer it

when has khan not shown heart?

anyways, Kotelnik is a tough ask, i think Urango would have been easier, he can punch but he's an ape.

also was alexander a champ back then? Khan would have schooled him

I also think Bradley wont offer much of a challenge

Maidana was the toughest opponent for khan, Footspeed, monster power, relentless agression

thats always gonna give a mover with poor defence and chin problems

ok, firstly khan wasnt the topic of discussion, he was an example

and it isnt a question of whether he would have schooled alexander, beaten bradley or whooped urango

    urango takes riskes, kotelnik doesnt

kotelnik is predictable... they could find a game plan against him and pull it off with ease

at the time in the uk press, warren was stating uncertainty over khan being ready for some of these guys at the top of the division, next thing you know... khan calls out kotelnik

i think your making your statement on khan post maidana and post bradley alexander, you not meant to

Yeah Robert Stieglitz is defending the WBO title against Dimitri Sartison on the 9th April. This i believe would be Frank Warren's preferred route, especially with his link to the WBO. But I do believe in a year or two DeGale would have the beating of a lot of the top guys in the division.

DeGale is going to be easily good enough in a couple of years. I'd pick him to beat Johnson, Green, Sartison, Dirrell, Stieglitz and Andrade already. In a year or so, I'd imagine he will have progressed further and be ready to mix it with Ward, Froch, Kessler etc..

im not convinced if I'm honest, i Know Froch is looking to step up to light heavy so that vacates the WBC in a year or so

for me, degale isnt mobile enough, doesnt use his physical attributes enough

for me he does beat the contenders but im not so sure about the champs

No, Glen johnson would **** the poor lad at this moment in time, Dirrel would bet him as of now and Andrade would certainly be too tough at this stage for him.

    Give him 18 month.

I agree, too soon to talk bout him battering the likes of johson and dirrell at this stage
