How can we save the HW division?..Our HW division of today is a joke!

The HW division is an utter joke, and the amateurs aren't looking too good either, they bore me to no end.

15 rounds wont do ****. these young guys have to start fighting each other, it seems like they all are in a holding pattern waiting for K2 to leave the scene. Cannot blame them really, fighting the bros you get peanuts fighting each other is worse, why not wait until you get a good chance at a strap?

I think when both K brothers have retired, it might liven things up and the alphabet titles will start changing hands. A super hw division is a **** idea, do we really need even more world champions?

Here's how to save the heavyweight division:

1. Abolish the "color line" or racial segragation so all races are included. Thus making the field of competitors more numerous and the greater the numbers the more intense the competition.

2. Get rid of the mafia influence in boxing or at least severely limit it. Having to go through Carpo in order to get a go at Rocco is killing the sport. They only let bums or has-beens have title fights.

3. Get rid of greedy promoters who stack the division in order to serve their own personal financial agendas; competitive matches be damned. It's about getting more riches for a King.

4. Tear down that wall Mr. Gorbachev so fighters from the USSR can compete in professional boxing if they wish. Again the field of competitors could be enlarged so the talent at the top is top notch.

5. Figure out a way to make people in the future, bigger, stronger, faster and with more endurance so we can increase the frequency of heavyweight sized athletes in the population and again increase the number of competitors.

6. Get rid of the idiots who have been complaining about the complete lack of talent in the heavyweight division for the past 82 years.

7. Make the idiots mentioned above realize in 10 years time the exact same "save the heavyweight division" will still be around.

8. Remind said idiots that the "save the heavyweights" or "heavyweights sucks" cliche was around 10 years ago and 10 years before that yaddah, yaddah yaddah.

9. The "Bum of the Month Club" goes a long way back.

10. Remember that recent times the heavyweight division was supposedly "wide open", ten years from now some will finally realize that the heavyweight division was under tight control by a dominate fighter. BTW, that fighter was not Michael "Heir Apparent" Grant like all the fine minds at Ring magazine claimed it was going to be.


The whole ****in' world has changed except for the cliche "the heavyweight division is at its worst state ever".

I think the division could actually improve though. I get a little ticked when a title like the WBF would pit two solid C/B level guys like Holyfield/Botha or Grant Botha, but the NABO would let Johnathan Banks defend against Jason F/N Gavern, or David Rodriguez fighting Byron F/N Polley FFS. And that goes for the EBU letting Ustinov defend against a journeyman. The BBOC letting Fury or Price defend against guys like Sexton or Maddalone.

Those titles should feature the best guys rated by those orginizations, and when a guy like Rodriguez is in talks for a fight with K2 fighter Banks, and Banks turns it down to fight Gavern.....he should be stripped, and the NABO should set up a fight between the #2 and #3.

It starts on the lower teir, and if these regional and minor titlists keeping fighting cans and past it journeyman, then they'll never be ready for their tougher challenges vs fellow Blevel guys.

And Grant, turning down Wach.....well, I never though Grant would duck like that. And Arreola turning down Rodriguez.....how f/n pathetic.:rofl

 

If Seth Mitchell and Deontay Wilder were HW champs, this would be the best era of HW for the majority of these posters. Lets call a spade a spade here. Those two would get worked by the K brothers.
