i think some people must be informed that the term p4p is short for "POUND FOR POUND"

not hating on wlad, im impressed with what he's done the last 3 or so years, but its damn near impossible for a heavy to be on a top 10 p4p unless his weight is low- under 220, and is very dominant.

P4P is surely done on resume and skillset??

In Wlad's case, you take into account his resume and how well he would do at the same weight as his competitors.

Don't get why a heavyweight can't be considered.

Lennox arguably made it onto some peoples, i think he was on the Rings p4p list at one point, the last heavy i had on the p4p list was jones and that was just because he came up from middleweight.

it is very hard to make a a legit claim for a super heavyweight to be on the p4p list especially one as fragile as Wladimir Klitschko.

Actually P4P is short for "fighter with the opponents who are the most well known in the USA".

Pound for pound should not be taken as a completely scalar quality, although that´s the grammatical meaning of it, because there is an optimal weight for a heavyweight boxer anyway. Really heavy boxers, like 260 pounds +, tend to suck and get KOTFO by the 220-240 pound ones. Thus you could say Nikolay Valuev has great skills "pound for pound", because big boxers are usually slower and less skilled.

Anyway I´m sleepy and maybe talking out of my ass, so whatever :tired

no, it's how good a fighter is compared with his weight.

Floyd- a lightweight effective up to light middle
Pac- a fighter effective from 112-130
HOpkins- a fighter effective from 160-175

fighters like these are the eptiome of the term pound for pound. These fighters are so good compared to their weight, that they are effective against bigger fighters. Wlad does not fit that category. Do you think Wlad would be anywhere as effective if he fought 6'6" 245lb versions of Kessler, MAB, DLH, Hatton, or was the same size of Rafael Marquez, Hugo Cazares, and Morales? I think not

Not to say that Wlad isnt a great heavy, he is and he is the clear best in the division, but in a p4p sense, he is nowhere close. Peter is the only decent heavyweight he has fought near his size.

beating top fighters with one arm sounds pretty dominant to me.
