Wlad has heart and has fought through adversity before to get the win. Vitali folds like a lawn chair when faced with adversity.
Wlad is by far the better technical boxer. He's faster, hits harder & has a much better resume. He's also fought back & won in the face of adversity. Vitali isnt as likeable for many reasons; His ugly, awkward style, his classless behaviour, his quit job against Byrd & the failed steroid test. A lot of people say Vitali is the natural fighter of the two but I think Wlad has bigger balls & more heart.
Tell us again how you were telling the truth. You were going to bed if I recall correctly. Yet you were the one who stayed up to get the last word in. Don't you get tired of me exposing your lies?
All valid points up until this bit of delusion. Byrd slipped Vitalis R hand so effectively that Vitali over threw that punch. Harder rather than faster. It's clear to see how Byrd affected Vitali and got into his head and caused him to self inflict and injury.
Never close to going down. Well, I view the Sanders fall/slip as a legit unscored KD. Vitali was very clearly HURT by Sanders' sneaky straight L, and was one the RUN for nearly 30 seconds when Corrie got him against the ropes. He squared Vitali up and MISSED several shots, but the punches hit glove and several landed partially, and IMO, that, and not a slip, caused the KD. You also say Lewis Wlad is 50/50. Perhaps going into the fight:think:think, but in hindsight I think we all know how that one ends.:deal
36 yo Wlad wins a clear decision against Lewis. 28 y/o Wlad is mopped up off the canvass against 36 y/o Lewis.:deal
People like to say Vitali's return is more impressive than George's return. There are good points to that. But, there are reasons for disagreement as well. Let's stack it up. Vitali. Better wins against similar LOC than George. Vitali. More defenses. George. The wins aren't as impressive, but George was like 37 or 38 when he came back. Not 36. George had many more fights than Vitali, and came back going through the rankings like any other fighter. Vitali was awarded a title shot just because of his name. George.....fought overall better competition....but he did take a few Ls. I think overall Vitali's comeback is not as impressive as George's. But again, George's was done in like 96. Vitali looks so good still, it may be 2016 before we see him in a struggle. Time will tell. And the book aint quite closed yet.:think
Vitali's long layoff could have produced him some great fights. A semi prime Rahman would be great on his record, and a younger Toney would as well. Ruiz and Valuev were protected by DK from the K2, but I think Vitali, with HBO money, could have gotten those fights made from 04-08. With Ruiz, Valuev, Toney, and Rahman on his resume......Vitali would certainly trump Wlad resume-wise. And a rematch with Byrd wouldn't hurt either.:hey
