How can Wladimir still have any fans?

    - He violates the rules often, and sometimes excessively. For example in the Peter fight he was holding all night, turning his head in fear, and hit Peter while he was holding his head down.

    - His fighting style is increibly boring: jab jab grab. It isn't domination, domination means getting rid of your opponent soon instead of jabbing him till he falls over from exhaustion.

    - He is getting more and more inactive. Maybe he truly is ill, but he has cancelled three of his last four scheduled bouts. And I doubt he ever truly wanted to face Chisora.

    - He never seems to respect opponents yet demands respect: slave contracts, having it all his way, the Chisora debacle, etc.

    - He won't fight his brother, which is understandyble yet still causes a problem: we are not having one dominant champ but several title holders. In fact, he is nothing but a paper champ as he will never face his toughest challenge: his own brother, who is also champ.

    - He needs excuses to survive. He never said "I was beaten by a better man that night".

    You raise some interesting points.

    Personally, I've always been a fan. I admired how he overcame getting laid out like a $2 ***** three times to bounce back and dominate the division. But, unfortunately this Mormeck pull out is the straw the broke the camel's back. That's 3 pull outs of his last 4 fights - thats a 75% pull out rate :-(

    There's no need to down Wlad here if he can't fight hed can't fight.

    The other thoughts. Yes he's a boring fighther. No he is not a top 20 heavyweight of all time. Yes he is dominating a weak division and his best win came against an injured David Haye.


    I won't question Wlad pulling out of this fight unless he announces a fight with say Arreola before Mormeck gets a chance.

    Wlad is possibly the All Time Boring-est Boxer P4P. He dominates an awful division using height, blatant fouling, and generally fighting like a scared little *****.

    His resume speaks for itself. Show me another "great" fighter who has been brutally KO'd by C to D grade opponents after his 25th, 42nd and 45th fights? A fighter who only managed to avenge one of those losses, after the guy who destroyed him had already retired with a detached retina.

    Wlad turned pro in '96. He was a peer of Lennox and many other good fighters, yet he never got close to them cos he was getting sparked out by bums at every stage of his career. Wlad sucks dick. It took the worst division of all time for him to become a champion and he has done it with absolutely no style at all.

    But then again, he seems like nice guy, is very well educated, and is Hitler's wet dream. This has to be why half of Europe has a ridiculous hard-on for him. It obviously has nothing to do with what goes on in the ring.
