ward or marquez are very good boxers. but floyd is #1, the best boxer in the world should have higher expecations than very good boxers. the very best boxer should fight the best around him like pac, martinez, canelo and not a solid, but in no way great boxer like guerrero, got it.

by they way. ward and marquez are boxing the best opposition they can. marquez fought floyd and manny, that says it all. ward fought froch, dawson and kessler, doesn get any better than this in sm division.

floyd can fight anybody from 147 to 154 and the best boxers there are not those who floyd wants like devon alexander or guerrero, the best at 154 are guys like canelo, vanes or trout and at 147 after floyd its marquez, pac, even brook I would favor over guerrero. so there you see floyd aint fight the best, guys like marquez or ward do.

How many contenders did Hagler beat fighting above his optimum weight? That era wasn't exactly littered with great middleweights to balance it out enough for me. He's a divisional KING, but not upper echelon P4P for me that he is to a lot of people. No. Floyd edges him, and Pea is well ahead of him.
