you do have to be jones or hopkins to be avoided if you're the fighter below them....

i agree with you that the taylor win is better than any of kessler's. no question.

but don't cheapen your fighter by calling him 'avoided' if you dont understand how boxing works.

getting the taylor fight was a gift that many fringe euro champions get one shot at maybe.
froch made the best of his while witter lost to judah and spent the rest of his career crying about hatton.

but neither made the moves hatton did to earn it.

You're about 20 years out of date mate. Apart from a couple of exceptions the USA has few world class fighters anymore, certainly nothing like it used to be, and bugger all at Heavyweight since Tyson was in his heyday

One bronze medal in the Olympics and only three amateurs rated in the top15 worldwide(two of those are Bantamweights), doesn't suggest the 'hotbed' you imagine it to be.

I couldn't stand Froch when he was always mouthing off about Calzaghe before he even fought anyone worth a mention. He seemed obsessed, but I suppose it could have been partly due to frustrastion of not having had a big fight yet.

Now that he has beaten two good opponents and seems to be talking about who he is fighting more instead of Calzaghe, I kind of like him now. He may not be the most skilled boxer, but he has a lot of other intangibles.

Now I find it pretty amusing with the things he says, more so since he has now backed himself up a couple of times against good fighters. He really does believe what he says and that a good type of mentality for a fighter. He also is pretty entertaining in the ring. Even though I really wanted to see Jermain win their fight, it was still excellent viewing.

I usually don't mind a fighter talking. It's all for promotion and can be quite amusing.

How many world champions does the U.S. have compared to most other countries? If you want to talk like that, then we can discuss how many the U.K. has! :rasta

its not about US fighters..and its never about the olympics if they can't fulfill their potential.

its about televison networks and a fanbase.

Even though boxing is becoming more global all the time, most fighters realize they still must come to America to prove themselves. This is the big stage. Froch was willing to do it, and now some other European fighters are following the trend which is great. If America still was not the main location for boxing, why do some many fighters come here. There's a reason they make more money here in the U.S.

I agree. Money is the key. But just because a fighter can earn more money fighting in Vegas(and it really is only Vegas) doesn't make the USA a hotbed of boxing. However, the real question is will Vegas still offer the really big money as superstar American boxers continue to dwindle in number? Maybe it will. Only time will tell.

Why is Pascal 'clearly' better than Mundine or Andrade? I would have thought that you could have an opinion that it was so, and construct an argument for it, but it's hardly in the realm of proven fact at this stage of his career.

I have liked Froch since the first interveiw of his that I read. The guy says whats on his mind, you have to respect that...I personally think that he is going to get dominated by Dirrell..But I still like him..The thing that I dont understand is why is it ok for him to say this kind of stuff while other fighters that arent as bash get labeled as mouthy and punk like??? Very interesting concept:huh
