Realistically, every boxer is the same. The people who criticise Froch for being "arrogant" are the ones who typically underrate him. They can't see why he's so effective, so that confidence that he has, is perceived as arrogance. People who do rate him and know why he's world class, see it as confidence though. He backs that confidence up too. Pascal was favoured by many, as was Taylor, who was supposed to be far too much for Froch. Dirrell was supposed to school him but obviously that didn't happen. Many thought Kessler would be far too good for Froch, though it was a good, close bout. Even now, many are picking Abraham to simply knock Froch out and I think he's going to show these people up once again.
Yea, Froch is good people. He did it the hard way. He started off nobody saying he's a "golden boy" or the "future of boxing" or anything like that he just worked his way up, won a belt, defends that belt against the best, loses it wants it back and continues to fight the best. I guess the trash talking he does I can see how it may rub some people the wrong way, but as a fighter you gotta give him his props and you really have to respect him for that.
He's held a world title and beat some top fighters. Since he moved up to world title level, every fight has been against a top-ranked opponent. I think he's earned the right to run his mouth off, even if i disagree with what he says sometimes. Every boxer bar none will constantly be telling you about the titles he's going to win, the guys he'd beat easily, this next opponent has no chance etc etc.
All I know is every single time I tune in to see Froch, I KNOW I'm getting my moneys worth. Before the fight even starts I know my money is well spent and I'm already glad I paid to support him.
Froch is a warrior of the ring. He might run his mouth sometimes but you know when it comes to the fight he is gonna stand in the middle of the ring and fight no matter who he is in with. Some fighters have all the chat but when they get in the ring they spend the whole time counter punching and not making any movements forward. Frochs belief that it does not matter how hard he gets hit he is gonna keep on coming forward makes him a warrior and not a paper champion
Hate Froch? Neh... he's an entertaining fighter and a charachter. He did lose a lot of respect from me because of his whining after the Kessler fight. He keeps telling he was robbed etc. Just pathetic really... even his team knew they's lose on points and probably he himself knew as well. Not quite sure what he wants to reach with it, but it certanly leaves an image of a bad loser.
I've been a fan of Froch since his British title days. There was a time on here when he was getting a fair bit of hate before the JT fight and after the Dirrell fight. People didn't really get him at first but they're starting to come round. You just can't not like a guy that's willing to fight anyone. He's funny as **** too.
Don't think the episode's online yet. But you get a bit of it on the promo [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqOSv83WnPc&feature=channel[/ame]
No, people think he's arrogant because he once said "I'm like Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns but with a better chin."
He does talk alot of smack like Hamed, Eubanks, and Haye did, but they were all entertaining fighters. You know when a fighter says he's better than Leonard, Ali, or Robinson you should know better than to believe them. But you also know they have alot to prove after they say that and can only shake your head or fall to the floor laughing when they get owned by the person they least expect. Just a way to build up some hype in a sport that is in constant need of exposure. Dang I really wish Froch was around when prime RJ or prime Calzaghe were around. I doubt he beats either one I like his chances vs Joe, but he would of given an entertaining fight that's for sure. He's easily the most exciting fighter at 168 and would like to see him fight Pascal, Dawson, Ward, Bute, or Kessler again in the future.
