How can you watch this fight and not think USYK schools WILDER

Usyk bodies Joshua too based off the Parker fight.

 

I could definitely see Usyk schooling Wilder.

For 7 to 10 rounds, until Wilder inevitably found a home for his right and brutally kos Usyk

 

Usyk doesn't have the power to hurt Wilder, whereas Wilder only needs to land one right hand to win.

Szpilka is very underrated, definitely an ATG soccer hooligan.

 

Usyk would absolutely befuddle Wilder. There's no doubt in my mind of that. The only danger comes from Wilder's power (which is the case in almost all of Wilder's fights), but Usyk is quite hard to hit clean, and can take a decent shot anyway. Wilder would need to catch him perfectly to lay him out, and I don't think Usyk would be foolish enough to give him that opportunity.

Still, it remains to be seen how Usyk does against Gassiev (who isn't stylistically similar to Wilder but has a similar level of power). It's very possible Gassiev cracks Usyk's chin, and that might dent his confidence going into future fights.

One thing that should be clear, the size shouldn't be an issue. Usyk rehydrates to around 210-215 and Wilder was 214 for his last fight. The height would be the only determining factor in physical terms, and Wilder isn't brilliant at using it. Usyk is a master of distance and ring control.

 

I can see Usyk giving Wilder some issues early on, but once Wilder starts connecting I see Usyk getting stopped.

Usyk is more skilled and better trained than Szpilka, but also fights in a more predictable way. Until Usyk moves up and fights better competition its hard to judge him, since cruiserweight is an extremely weak and thin division. I'm not sold on Usyk's stopping power, which seems very limited or his chin. If his chin and power were up to par his team would've started him as a heavyweight.

Michael Hunter and Mchunu were complete garbage and shouldn't have been fighting for a title and Huck has been shot for years. Briedis and Glowacki are average and okay wins, but neither has any power.

 

Wilder won partly because Ortiz, a month from age 39 gassed. Usyk has much better confiding, and perhaps even a better chin

 

And to think after Szpilka gave Wilder fits with his feather fisted boxing style, Kownacki literally walked through him in 4 rounds.

 

skill wise Uysk schools him like Ortiz did in their fight until he was stopped. If Wilder land something it might be over
