He looks pretty lean already, I can't imagine him comfortably making 154. He'd be losing muscle too, not good for his body. So I think he could make it but he won't be the same fighter.

I don't give a flying sh#t about who's a more natural middleweight. If Cotto - Canelo fight is for the MIDDLEWEIGHT LINEAL TITLE i.e the WBC belt then the fight should be @ 160 lbs and the winner should fight his mandatory challenger i.e Golovkin @ 160 lbs.

what the fuk we are talkin about guys:patsch:twisted:

We're talking about weight. Nobody said they shouldn't fight because of it.

Canelo would give GGG hell and might even win.

hard to say because we have never seen canelo fight @ 160. canelo would be the most talented, skilled fighter ggg has ever seen. canelo has a good chin and has demonstrated great defense in the trout fight, ggg does not run like lara did or have backwards and lateral movement like floyd...

the one thing i would worry about is canelo getting tko'd if his defense fails him. if canelo can use the upper body movement and make ggg miss it could be a great fight, ggg throws bombs and it takes a lot of energy especially if he misses. i think canelo has a better chin than some of the guys ggg has knocked out but then again i'm not sure how his chin holds up at 160 and not sure how his own power shots would affect ggg...

Ggg kos him in 6 or less, dominates the whole fight but is somehow down on 2 of the 3 cards despite the fact he was RUNNING the whole fight which none of his fans noticed.

I dontt think I will ever be a fan of Golovkin . But hes earn my respect .

I love Canelo but i will fear for his well being in this fight .

I see Canelo hitting the canvas a lot in this fight , that pretty much tells you my thoughts on this fight so I'll leave it at that

Not a case of underrating him. More a reality check. Yes, Canelo has skills, but he is eclipsed in every department by Golovkin.

Golovkin is taller, rangier, hits harder, has better footwork, stronger, and most importantly of all, smarter.

Canelo showed in the Floyd fight he has no idea how to adapt or think strategically when faced with a superior opponent. Thats why, whilst I believe Canelo will beat Cotto, Cotto looked so much better against Floyd (ok, Cotto has better footwork than Canelo). Cotto was against a superior opponent, but at least he was smart enough to make it competitive.

One thing about Canelo is he got good punching power. BUT he is not a great hunter.

He does not well chasing a guy down for the kill. When fighters come towards him he is more then capable of trading and stopping guys. Or when he is fighting in a small ring. Then he is able too go for the kill.

Golovkin is a guy that will towards him though.
