8-4 Paul won Rounds 1-6 convincingly. Paul won Round 7 closely. Paul won Round 12 most convincingly. By the way, don't forget to add the scores from the three judges who are paid to score the fight. They had it 7-5, 7-5, 8-4, despite the hoopla and **** from Margo's hometown fans.
I don't have the fight on my hard drive but I watched it about three times total. Each time I had Williams up by 1-2 rounds. But it was a very close fight. Lots of rounds Paul was hitting Tony but not moving him and Tony was finding his range and hitting Paul with big shots. More active against more damage. It was just one of those fights. Of course the ESB Joyboy faithful would have you believe Williams won it going away. But that wasn't the truth. You never get the truth from them.
I watched it again the night before last. Upon close examination I scored it 115-113 for Margarito. Viewing it live I scored it for Williams by the same margin. Margarito took over and cleanly outscored Williams to the body and the head from the 5th until the 12th. Williams 1-4, 12, Margarito 5-11. Close win for Margarito 7-5.
A close win for Williams, no question he won it but it was not by a large margin. I had alot of respect for Williams after the 11th when he was getting blasted by Margo. Paul didn't clinch or run, he fought through it like a true warrior!
