Because america in general don't know who brook is, he has had one fight there and how many non hardcore fans do you imagine to watch a british fight in the evening particually when neither of the big networks have picked it up? he needs a big fight or at least appear on a big fights undercard, only problem is to get on a big undercard he will need to change promoter as no promoter in their right mind will pick their welterweight to face him on an undercard.
He needs a impressive win vs a good or better opponent who's also well known on American TV. His style is very pleasing and can knock almost anyone out on any night he is very fast and strong with good skills and has pasted every test he's had with flying colors. He's one of the best at 147 IMO he just needs the chance the kid is good as long as his chin is decent and he's got heart.
bc Khan has fought and beat world class opposition. brook has only today beat a domestic level crude slugger. :rofl:rofl:rofl I'd take Khan to beat Brook, and I see that as Brooks first fight in the A level.:deal
Brook needs to beat a true world class level guy with some danger factor to start getting some hype outside of Britain. He handled Matthew Hatton easily but Hatton is more of a high level regional fighter with no power and limited skills. Someone like Randall Bailey next would be good.
European level although it still isn't good enough, the way he did it though makes me disagree about khan
Kahn wasn't met with open arms at first.....Kahn is proven and therefore is accepted. Kell will get there but he has to work. If he continues to win and prove he has depth and substance beyond the surface Kell is HIGHLY marketable.
good post:goodlet's see him fight Malinaggi or Guerrero or and then Berto ortiz winner. Then we'll see if he's worthy of Pac, May or Cotto:deal
They hype for Amir Kahn started before he even came to the US. Why, because he is a silver medalist in the Olympics. When he was still fighting in Great Britain he was still largely unknown to the boxing world. Once he linked up with the very famous Golden Boy promotions, famous trainer Freddie Roach, and famous training partner and P4P #1 Manny Pacquiao, appeared in several 24/7 alongside MP, yes some of that fame has rubbed off on Amir Kahn. If anything it's a surprise AK hasn't become any more famous than he is or has even made it into the p4p top 10 prior to his disputed loss. As far as I could find from KB, I didn't read anything of an amateur career for prior exposure. If KB trains and fights in Great Britain he definitely is not going to get an US exposure. I know he was with Frank ****** until 2011 (not a big promoter), and he is now with Eddie Hearn (who?). So of course KB isn't going to be as famous or going to get any big fights with his current promoter Basically the old adage applies here: It's not what you know (boxing), it's who you know (GBP or TR).
I think you're on point. I think about what Mike would have done to Matt Hatton and feel Jones would have probably finished the job.... Maybe with less flash but more punishment.
