How come Andre Ward never fought Kovalev straight away at 175?

    Team Kovalev was ready to fight him since last year when he moved to 175 but they said he needed few more fights and was not ready for kovalev

    Kathy "It wards team that asked hbo for interim bouts and we agreed to make it happen but we was ready to fight him as soon as he moved up"

    My question is when Ward called out GGG when GGG was signed to fight david did he expected him to fight straight away at a weight class he never fought in but for him its ok to have 3 fights?

    why didn't lil g need tuneups for froch and chavez?

    ward was off 19 month layoff + new class

    So now that the fight is signed & made... and shut all those "Ward is scuuured" shizzheads.

    Now the argument is why didn't he fight Brokevalev str8 away and give him a payday... lol

    oh we are.....

    then again...most of us already knew it was happening...it was only the special cases, the lil g fans, that were hoping ward would back out so lil g didn't look like such a coward and a ducker
