There's nothing to say he lost fair and square. He could mention the catchweight but it was his choice to take the fight
Cotto wants to avenge that loss, but knows Bob Arum will more than likely not ever match Pac above 147 were Cotto wants it. In all fairness, Pac would probably beat Cotto 9-10 times, Cotto probably wishes he had another crack at it.
Not really, who? An older Mosely on tailend of career? Zab who has speed in spurts and then runs out of gas? Pauli who hit Cotto plenty but everyone knows Pauli hits like a 40lb asian teen girl. Who were the blazing fast punching fighters hes had to deal with? Mosely had great speed. It was decent at time they fought and that was a damn close fight. Fight someone with speed who can fight for 12 and see where it gets you--barely a win vs Mos and a loss vs Pac. Add in poor D and Cotto is in world of hurt vs Floyd like he was with PAC imo. Cotto always popular because hes a fighter, KO's-hits and gets hit-entertaining to watch. Well if you cant hit and you get hit, how you going to win?
I believe Miguel believes he was a different man subject to different circumstances in that fight. He hasn't mentioned it so far, but he has mentioned the fight since his move up to 154. He says he has no excuses, but could have done better with a better strategy, and that he was proud he was able to cause him some problems in the first half of the fight. There are also various quotes between him and Steward about the technical mistakes from that camp which led to his downfall. Since having his success against Margarito under Pedro, it seems irrelevant at this point (from his point of view) to worry about that fight.
Look, you can play revisionist history to suit your flawed logic all you want. You stated speed is what will beat Cotto. Cotto has dealt with speed on many occassions and come out on top. If you think speed and stamina is the reason why Cotto lost to Pacquiao, then you are ignoring all the details surrounding that fight that pretty much ensured a Pacquiao victory. All things considered, that victory for Pacquiao is really nothing to be happy about.
Because of the firm believe they have about Margs "illegally" beating him. I don't think Cotto feels like the Pac loss wasn't legit so he took it as such and moved on.
I agree with this. But why not also address the flaws in loss about PAC? Or just how to improve upon that? Like I said before, he went up against a P4P top opponent, and was dominated. I would think his team and/or him would also address since now going against the other top P4P guy. Ya, you righted a wrong vs margo if he cheated, great. But what about the "legit" loss to PAC? What do you seek to correct there? Like I said, I think you can replace Cotto name/career with Hatton, at least with last couple of fights. Dominated by Floyd, dominated by PAC. Now Cotto was dominated by PAC, will be dominated by Floyd = Hes not in their class regardless of past record and championships and each was severley damaged mentally by losses to pac/floyd. Hatton and Cotto both even fight/brawl the same, with the exception that Cotto does sometimes throw a jab and counters, at least way more the Fatton ever did. That why im saying: Potshot city here comes Cotto!
Which is funny because people like to bring up Pac's pre-Marquez training camp to legitimize whatever, yet ignore the same method of reasoning for other claims such as this
Margarito took his invincibility aura from him in 2008. The loss to Pacquiao happened during that time. He wasn't the undefeated favorite fighter, he feels he wasn't at his very best that night, and he just happened to lose to the best fighter at the time.
