at the time mayweather challenged him cotto had about 23 fights.

Why would I be questioning Hatton's resume in a thread that says "How come Cotto fights anybody" ? If there was a thread talking about how Hatton fights anybody I would question why he never fought Cotto and Floyd. Also, say what you want, but the point I made was that it's hard to say that the guy fights anybody when not only has he not yet beat an elite fighter, but he hasn't even beat a legitimate champ. The guy is going on 27 and he has fought in two talent laiden divisions. Yet despite this his best win to date was against a guy coming off two losses and a 1 year suspension. For 2 years I've been waiting for this guy to take the next step and it hasn't happened yet. I'm not saying it's all his fault, but it hasn't happened.

 

Just wait and see - Cotto will eventually say what Taylor says. I wouldn't blame him for it - afterall - once you get to the top, you better make sure you make the money you intend to live on for the rest of your life.

As up now - he is not at the very top(yet) - thus he will still fight whoever.

 

I thought this thread was a joke at first. Cotto was an olympian. In the past Olympians like Leonard, DeLaHoya, Whitaker etc were in mega fights and winning them far sooner than Cotto. Cotto certainly isn't old school in his willingness to fight anyone. I mean where are the great names on his record? Judahatsch

unfortunatley for cotto he doesn't have duran and hearns in his weight class.

 

Cotto was supposed to fight Margarito in June. That was supposed to be his first legit champion. When Margarito turned his back on the fight Judah was selected so that they could sell out the Garden. Cotto's next opponent will probably either be Antonio Margarito or Sugar Shane Mosley (either one good enough for you guys?). Newspapers have asked him his preference. You should already know what his answer is.

 

Cotto would have had Margarito on his resume already. But the Tijuana Chihuahua punked out and they replaced him with Judah. Dont worry, Margarito will get his this coming Fall.

It was more directed at brown bomber, but then again nothing I said was offensive, so I would have nothing to apologize for even if it were directed towards you. I think Margarito/Sugar Shane is just about as good as it gets in the ww division. Both are established and although Mosley 'only' has an interim belt no one is going to question his resume.
