How come Cotto vs Jenning was the undercard of Main event Pavlik vs Rubio?

Most people were looking forward to Cotto's come back that night.

If he's already done, then he must be one hell of a fighter if he can beat elite welters like Clottey.

    But we'll see what happens.

It's because of the time zone. Cotto in New York so that would go on first and then the Pavlik fight, in Ohio, would go on 2nd. If the fighters switched citys then Pavlik would have been first and Cotto would have been 2nd.

Bro im just saying why i think he was the main event. I thought Cotto deserved to be the main event as well. You have to ask Arum why he did it that way. Maybe its because Pavlik is white. Is that one better? :D

I think it had something to do with the fact that the MSG show had a decent undercard (Matt Korobov and Andy Lee) where as Pavlik's undercard was as inept as humanly possible.

It's a lot easier to show the undercard and then Cotto's fight and cut immediately to the Pavlik main event then it is to show Cotto's undercard go to the Pavlik fight then go BACK to MSG for Cotto's main event. Too messy.

Cotto was on the east coast (+ undercard fights) and Pavlik in the midwest, easier to program the PPV.

cotto fight was on the east coast and pavlik fought in ohio....two different time zones..that is why the pavlik fight was the main event cuz if he was the undercard it would of thrown off the fights at the garden. it was a split sight ppv

And we have a wiener........ Just easier to do the PPV from New York and tack Pavlik on the back end.

The Marquess of Queensberry rules clearly state the following :

No. 112 - No PPV, regardless of how crap it is, shall ever have Michael Jennings top of the bill.

probably because the pavlik fight was in a different time zone.. and it was easier to match things up to have pavlik as the head liner

I'm confuse i thought Ohio is the same time zone like in nyc? I talk to a friend of mine that lives in ohio and i ask her alot of times what time is it and in ohio she told me the time and it's exactly same time as here in nj.

The Cotto vs Micheal Jennings fight reminds a lot of the Pavlik vs Gary Lockett fight. Unfortunately a lot of knock downs and early nights.
