How come Danny Garcia is and never was rated in P4P?

It's always something I have wondered about. Regardless of the fact he has some legitimate loses where he was gifted the W, Danny has a good to very good resume. Let's just include those dodgy wins, as let's face it, the people who make out the P4P lists aren't the brightest bulbs so they don't take into account things like that...just the plain results given.

But yeah Danny Swift has wins over

Morales x2 albeit old Morales but solids wins nevetheless

Khan, very good win where he was the underdog
Judah, again albeit old but still...a solid win

Matthysse - a fantastic win. For all the love Lucas gets and hate Danny gets, this is a top win.
Herrera - yes I know he lost this...but he was given the W so that's "added" to his resume too...another solid win

Peterson - another dodgy win but it's given as a win...and it's a good win.

Paulie - albeit it's a very badly aged Paulie, it's still a decent win on the grand scheme of things...and as his first proper 147 win, it's pretty damn good

That's some damn impressive resume imo. Now I like Danny...I don't think he deserves all the hate he gets...but I understand the hate. But his resume on paper is damn good and I think he's well worth a place in P4P based on that.

I think mainly because P4P lists are imaginary and they are not purely based on resume. People who do the lists often take the robbery situations into account, and from a "who's the most unbeatable" viewpoint, he is very beatable at the top level regardless of how the judges score his fights.

Solid point actually now that I think of it. Cult popularity appears to be important too. It explains why Golovkin is there and even why the likes of Rigo are still in it. And Swift is generally hated by most.

Cauae hes not that good..he beat Matthyse 7-5 ..good win..Khan ok good win... but lost to Herrera and struggled for his life against peterson which peterson couldve won if he didnt think he was in a dance competition in the first half of the fight..He looked slow and weak against poly..he needs to step up his comp..Ever since Matthyse he is cherry picking and even that has been biting him in the ass

Funny that 140 was red hot around 2009-2012, widely cited as the very best or one of the very best divisions in boxing during that stretch, and that Danny Garcia was the guy who emerged on top at the end (obviously Bradley too, and probably more so, just that he moved up without facing Khan or Matthysse and before that "red hot era" was over [as it clearly is now]).

Danny deserves all the credit in the world for beating Khan and Matthysse. I think what soured people on Danny was not giving Herrera a rematch and taking the Salka fight.

An immediate rematch with Herrera was certainly warranted and had he done it and won, I think much of the discrediting of Danny would have been silenced.

He would still be hated for beating so many peoples' favorite boxers in Morales, Matthysse, and Khan, but perhaps a lot less backlash had he rematched Herrera right away and won, skipping over the Salka joke.

He lost to Herrera CLEARLY, controversial win over Matthysse, and some say he lost to Peterson too. At least Floyd would give immediate rematches to Castillo and Maidana, Garcia didn't even do that. Good fighter, solid fighter, but not p4p.

He did lose to Herrera clearly.

The Peterson fight was very close and debatable.

However, there was nothing controversial about the result of the Matthysse fight. Nothing at all.

He lost to Herrera, Peterson, looked like **** against shot Zab Judah. Hell, Paulie would have beat him if he had any power left.

I really thought he was the real deal after the Lucas M. fight. But he has proved that he is not in all outings since then.

He doesn't have p4p skills, he's pretty average in all aspects. And with some questionable wins.

His best win was against lucas which was very close if it wasn't for the BS kd

You can put him in top 20 or so, but his stock has fallen since the Khan win, which to me isn't that great a win since Khan is mediocre.

And beating a one eyed Mattysse? Doesn't look that good now, based on Lucas' recent performance.

for me, The Khan fight was stopped to early, OK he was down 3 times I think but he was still on steady legs. Was winning until the neck shot.

Against Lucas? He was losing until the headbutt which blinded Lucas, wouldn't take a rematch.

and clearly lost to hererra and peterson IMO

    plus I hate his dad.
