How come Deontay Wilder doesn't have commercial endorsements like Canelo, GGG & Joshua?

It isn't so much about the way he acts.

It's simply about the fact nobody knows who he is.

I hear he's got endorsements for stringbeans, chicken legs and wind-based renewables lined up!

    Don't underestimate the Bumzquad!

Dereck Chisora seems to rate Wilder highly with what I've seen on ifl. I thought he would be brutal with him..He thinks Wilder v Whyte is easy money..Very strange

Because GGG and Canelo fought in some massive fights against top top opposition and came through victorious, Wilder has fought nobody and Stiverne is his best win so far, he got outboxed by Washington and Szpilka, Kownacki demolished Szpilka when they fought and he is ranked 10th or something like that.

Sponsors need exposure for their brand. Wilder doesn't provide that because he is not a draw. You become a draw by seeking challenges and overcoming obstacles. That's what the man on the common street wants to see in a sports superstar.

Wilder for some odd reason isn't even TRYING! That's the problem with him. He is too shy to try.

Wilder gets respect from his peers which leads me to believe he isn't quite as god awful as many wish he was.

I think he's mad overrated and hasn't beaten anybody, but I don't think he is actually terrible. A terrible fighter would have lost to one of the fringe or faded guys he has faced.

These companies need to feel a bit assured that you are elite and can cut it with the other elite operators before they plough lots of money into getting your name and face onto their products. They want to be assured an embarrasing defeat is likely to not happen some time soon and be stuck with a loser on their products. Wilder has not faced the elite and these companies dont have faith in him cutting it with the other elite and suspect an embarrasing defeat could be just round the corner for Wilder.

Face and knock out one of these elite and these companies will be knocking on his door with sponsership deals. Im sure they have been waiting for this, and waiting, and waiting. But unfortunatly Wilders opposition seems to be getting worse rather than better.

Not to mention he has clearly been promoted badly, somebody in Wilders position should be making more money and fighting infront of bigger crowds. Seems like its not just the companies who dont have faith in him, neither do his promoters or Boxing fans.

Vitali was endorsed by many dozens of large corporations throughout his career:

    Strellson, a Swiss men's fashion brand: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/6b/71/36/6b71365fc6e95b929c45655431e7197e--vitali-klitschko-camps.jpg
Hugo Boss, a major fashion brand: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2418/2116055299_7b3157e6e6.jpg
FAZ, a large daily newspaper publication: http://media0.faz.net/ppmedia/unternehmen/kluge-koepfe/1413461050/1.1490678/klitschko3.jpg
McFit, a large fitness studio franchise: http://manfredkonradt.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/4926024_10852b6c33_m.jpeg
Tschibo, the #3 coffee roasters in Europe: http://meedia.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Wladimir-Vitali-Klitschko.jpg
Warsteiner, a top 5 German beer brand: https://www.wonderlandmovies.de/en/references/success-case-warsteiner/mainimage.jpg

These are the type of endorsements you can get if you inspire people. Being marketiable is not a coincidence but the result of taking calculated risks and succeeding.

Deontay Wilder's brand image is that of a fraud. A loud, brash idiot with gold chain and drug dealer outfits who looks amateurish inside the ring and who carefully avoids any challenge against top 10 opposition. No brand wants to be associated with a loser like that.

Brands pay for commercial endorsements in order to differentiate themselves from their competition. They want to say "hey, we are the best brand".

They want their brand to be seen as premium, the kind sold by well respected and world renowned independent retailers.....

Wilder would be lucky to get paid to endorse a dollar store/pound shop.

He just seems like he's about to get caught at a pitbull fight or smashing an empty cognac bottle over the head of a ten-dollar hooker.

..... also, no one knows him.
