:thumbsup. Floyd doesn't have to hit too hard to put fear in his opponents, constant countering works well too.

That would not explain the heavy breathing ... physical gassing out due
to blood tests or age may be the real reason. Mosley was physically more
active against Margarito and his conditioning was superior that night.
You cant lose your condoning/gassing out from pure frustration.

He's just breaking these guys down mentally. At this stage May is by far the smartest fighter out there and no one can match strategy. He can adjust quickly and shut down what was working the round before.. They are tired but more so mentally than anything..

You can't gas from frustration, but you can gas from being too tense and jittery because you are frustrated. Tension keeps the muscles contracted, which uses up energy. Nervous motion uses up energy. Throwing every punch as hard as you possibly can, looking for that KO, can tire you out quickly. Failing to breath properly because you're tense drains energy.

There are a lot of ways that a fighter can tire themselves out (or there opponent tire them out) quickly that has nothing to do with conditioning.

Anxiety has a funny way of doing that too you, pretty much.

They break down mentally, putting themselves in a state of constant anxiety due to the fact that they do not want to be knocked out. Usually manifests into half ass boxing( throwing punches, not trying to land ), twirling arms around pretending your doing something, constant retreat/defense, talking/**** talking..

Shane came in there shaky/neverous and never got comfortable. Part of making the 12 round stretch is being relaxed..

Yes you can gas from frustration, because frustration causes what you said, tension, hesitation etc, and when a fighter has to be hesitant and at times stop his punches from following through because hes missing and has to avoid getting countered, its the quickest way to exhaustion. Thats exactly what happened with Mosley.

You've got to remember that nobody likes to be hit, and when it seems like you can do nothing to stop yourself from getting hit, long/short night

Oscar was old and had a bad habit of tiring down the stretch to begin with.

Judah's an undisciplined child with great talent but no conditioning. He probably would have been outclassed anyway.

Hatton was outclassed and if he was tired it was his own fault.

Shane Mosley is 38 years old with a 15 month layoff. He looked pretty well conditioned against Margarito, but father time has caught up. His mouth was hanging open by the 3rd, and he didn't capitalize on hurting Floyd. When a fighter hurts his man early and fades the next round, it's not from intimidation or confusion or countering. He simply stopped throwing and his age showed that night.

I agree with everything except Baldomir. That man did not get tired. He is a punch taking machine and had his best round in the 12th.

This is the first fighter who underwent the blood tests, and both did them. Considering all of Foyds opponents appear to tire, I think it may be more accurate to say that Floyds style causes them to tire. I think the frustration combined with the missed shots causes them to tire quickly. Mental fatigue plays a big role.

They are mentally tired. Floyd breaks them down mentally.

Genreally its because he shows no emotion to punches .Lets look at round 2. Floyd takes the biggest shots of his career but still continues to walk down shane. This is when Shane knew he was in the Sh*t.
