All people are missing the point i agree with most post, but you forget something or miss it. Floyd punch much harder that anyone give credit for. He worked the body of fighters better than anyone right now. He don't throw punches like Cotto, who throw punches with his body to punch hard and for this reason he takes almost 50% of the punches that his opponent throw. Mayweather punch almost as hard without losing form, without compromising defense. Look the face of Mosley in the 4 round, it was swollen and Floyd hit him, but don't put a thousand punches, but he punch hard and accurate. If you take good punching power combined with precise hard body shots at the right time combined with a impenetrable defense the result will always be the same. Taunting opponents who are tired and are confused and don't know how to punch and not get hurt by his opponent. Mosley is and always has been a warrior, he has taken punches of bigger opponents and he continue to the front. Why he can't do that to Floyd in the third round. People 3 round, not the 8 or 11 round. He can't do for that for that same reason. He can't!!!!. He can't without get hit by powerful combinations thata were hurting him. You take risk and take punishment is there is a reward. You can take a risk of get a good punch if you can give a good punch. But you can't be taking punishment if are unable to do nothing. You are breaking down physically and mentally, trying to figure out how to punish a guy that is in front of you. How you can feel if you has a guy in front of you and you are trying your best effort to hit him and you can't, and the guy continue in front of you punishing you at will?
Excellent analysis! Most people come in thinking they can run right over PBF and when that doesn't happen they fall apart. They find out he's hard to hit clean, hits harder than they thought is stronger than they thought, is tougher than they thought and is even better then they thought. By the mid rounds they're so demoralized that PBF just turns it up and starts picking them apart often making good boxers look amateurish in the process. PBF is the truth.:deal
The answer lies below, he simply breaks them down mentally and physically. Mayweather: "In the fight I was talking to him. Telling him his jab isn't fast enough and it is, show it to me. So he would throw the jab and I would pull a counter over it." Mayweather: " I kept telling him, "Stop holding. Let's give the fans what they want to see.""
Because fighting Floyd is like figuring out a rubiks cube. You feel your gonna get it but get lost then throw it to a side frustrated. Floyds the same. You think you have a game plan he adjusts then you say "**** man i dont want to fight anymore"
And yet they were guys that were view as great wins for guys like Pac and cotto after they fought Floyd. :huh In fact Two of three pacs biggest wins were guys that Floyd beat first:good
Get real man. Do you have eyes? Was it not obvious that Shane was gassed very early? Are you blind? Because if you're not blind there it was. Doesn't matter the reason, I suspect it's the blood tests that did him in lol... but trying to say he wasn't gassed is just stupid. Like saying red is blue. I'm sure Floyd's countering had something to do with it, and for sure he got Shane discouraged, but the Shane we saw against Margo doesn't gas out that quick no matter how bad he's getting his ass whooped. He didn't against Wright, and he didn't against Forrest. As far as ODLH goes, in the later stages of his career he's known for gassing around the 9th. Zab has always had stamina problems, Baldomir and Hatton aren't on Floyd's level and it doesn't matter whether they were going to gas or not. JMM didn't gas, he just couldn't get thru. The sky is blue, dogs bark and Shane was gassed. End of story. PBF's best win is still Corrales, closely followed by Castillo. Mosely is a good win, but there are two factors that mitigate it. One is his age, and the other I think we can reasonably say is that Mosely isn't the same without the juice.
Too much thinking and over training....brfore you know it the fights is over. This man they called Money Mayweather ...loss 2 rounds in 24 rounds of boxing. Until someone beats him ,he is the BEST
Exactly. Floyd wears people out with feints, timing, counterpunching, and just generally never letting them relax. The second someone relaxes, they eat a leaping left hook or straight right. It's that simple. They never get an opportunity to just lay on the inside, because if they do he outmuscles them in the clinch, pushes them outside, and catches them. There's just no downtime when fighting Floyd.
