Seriously its a division with some good potential but It just seems that eventually the Cruiserweights have this fetish with going up and trying to win a Heavyweight title only to fail and make that one big payday because they were too small to begin with.

Over the years outside Holyfield (who was special in his own right), guys like Adamek, Chambers, and now Huck have and will move up to the division only to get beat up and dominiated by the Klistschkos who are just too big and skilled, and the only real reason why Haye won that Heavyweight title is because he got to it before a Klistschko and look what happened when he defended it against a Klistschko. I'm not sure if its because they feel fighting Klistschko is an easy fight or what but they just have no business even messing with it

It was a point where we could have had all these guys in the same division

    Haye
    Adamek
    Cunningham
    Chambers
    Flores
    Enzo

That was a unique mix of nationalities, styles and personalities, that could have produced many memorable matchups for years, hell Cunningham-Adamek had FOTY potential the year they fought no telling how exciting a rematch or even a Haye-Adamek unification matchup could have been. If anything alot of them are the same height and sometimes size of the Heavyweights in the past if networks or fans want to nitpick.

That said what are you guys thoughts on this.

Guys like Haye and Chambers would have to drain themselves to make CW. So instead they rely on thier relatively small HW frames to be mobile, defensive minded HWs.

For Chambers, this is a good move. He can out work and out manuever bigger guys and win close fights similar to Chris Byrd. But for Haye, having a 6'4 frame, and realistically could wiegh 240 comfortably, I think it's a bad move considering his power.

All in all, if Haye would simply pack on a bit of mass and some cushion, all the while conditioning his lower body to carry the weight, Haye could become a phenom instead of a hypejob.:-(

Nobody likes to see fat light heavies or small heavies go at it.

No money in this division , might as well get beaten up by the big men for a life changing amount of money.

Nobody cares about the CW division... it's a step up to HW, or a resort for small heavies that can't cut it against the big boys.

Money is in the HW division, fame is in the HW division... the easy belts are in the CW division.

With Vitalaevus and Volodymyrs ever so tightened grip on the HW division, cruiserweight division is getting harder and harder to dominate.

Dominating wouldn't be easy, but even Green, Huck and old man Tarver could pick up a belt in there recently.

Like others have stated. It's about the almighty $. However, I do feel for those guys since they are probably undersized in today's heavyweight world and too big to go down in weight. Kind of a sucky situation for them.

Cruiser is becoming more popular, especially in Europe. Its a much more interesting division than heavy & produces better fights.

    Thats nonsense & wouldnt work.

Good answers and I hear what everyone in this thread is saying I notice alot of people bring up money but here is another question If fights like Cunningham-Adamek happen wouldn't it generate money eventually? especially if HBO or Showtime picks it up.

Of course - but boxing badly needs - amongst other things - a more logical weight classification system, most especially at least one additional heavyweight division. The light heavyweight division comprises an absurd seven pounds, whereas a fighter weighing 201 (it used to be 191, and before that 176) needs to get in the ring with GIANTS! Cruiserweight would fit in better if they were more evenly and logically spaced out.
