How come Floyd Mayweather never gave a young lion a "passing of torch" fight?

He avoided Keith Thurman his mandatory for 2 years because it goes against his business model. A 36 year old former Flyweight champion, UFC fighter, Andre Berto, Robert Guerrero (tiny as ****), etc. These guys are all lower risk then a young, athletic, big and hungry, natural WW. Even if Thurman is unproven against elite opposition.

Against a guy like Keith Thurman because he's young and not tiny Floyd might actually lose. Which isn't Floyd's business model.

 

Mayweather won't give Crawford some shine at the expense of Mayweather himself. Floyd Mayweather is very self serving. I'm not even going to criticize that, just calling it like it is.

Its amazing how this man just eats people up inside, they can't come to terms with him retiring undefeated 50-0 having taken the least punishment in the sport while making the most money, 40 years old still looking like a young kid, always with a million dollar smile on his face, always happy always loving his life.

So many other boxers are bitter and salty, so many bitter and salty fan's starting threads like this talking about why didn't floyd do this, why didn't floyd do that. never once giving him credit for defeating the most world champions in history, never giving him credit for his boxing mastery, its always something negative trying to discredit him. Jealously is a terrible thing it literally eats people up, you see it on their face it takes a toll on their body mind and spirt, Oscar is the perfect example. Floyd is the perfect example of the opposite.

 

Say what you will. Berto wasn't even top 10 when Floyd fought him. He ducked some great challengers instead.

Probably because he was also 38 and had no real business fighting those guy's, It was always going to end up going out like he did against horn and that's the mistake a lot of these fighters make, many is no longer prime, hes proved him self already, he has no businesses trying to hang with the new young lions when hes already achieved so much. Its the sure fire way to tarnish your own legacy. The only old guy's who need to do this are the ones who never achieved much and are still trying to prove them selves, anybody else is playing Russian roulette you can get old over night in this game and wind up getting whopped by a guy you would have whooped in your prime.

A prime manny pacquiao destroys horn in brutal fashion, instead he chose to fight on too long and gave a bum the satisfaction bragging about beating an ATG. something all of you haters wish would happen to floyd, but hes too smart for that.

None of the young lions were capable of taking the brass ring from the grandmaster. He did give Canelo the chance. Yeah, maybe too soon for Canelo when they fought, but Canelo is the guy now, that was his chance to take that torch from Mayweather. And this isn't wrestling. Don't have to pass the torch and you're not being forced to. Floyd is like something out of the Gangster movies or Sopranos. ''All previous arrangements are null and void.'' Floyd did it his way.

Technically even Berto was the young lion; six years Floyd's junior and had fought half as many professional rounds (375 for Mayweather to 189 for Berto)
