He has a boring personality and a delusional sense of greatness.Eddie doesn't help the situation either, with his outlandish statements.

No British fighter has ever connected with the public like a certain Mr. Ricky Hatton, so its unfair to compare Carl to Hatton

But he is much more popular than you think, he's turned the general opinion of him on its head during the last 2 years, the Bute massacre was the icing on the cake, if you ask me Carl Froch is very popular in England

Just a sidenote; Amir Khan is extremely unpopular in comparison to Froch in the UK

Is he still not popular in England? I thought those overlooked days were over.

Anyways, in an odd way, it might have worked out for the best that he was with Hennessy. He got to fight in the Super 6 and really make a big name for himself. And he won over fans in the US and in Canada which might not have happened if he was fighting for a more powerful promoter.

    Add to the checklist
Never loses by devastating spectacular knockout-check

You would think his back and forths with Khan would get him even more attention:yep

Has Amir Khan's delusional sense of greatness hurt him across the pond?

I guess it was Fat Mick's fault, in the days that Froch first beat Pascal for the WBC, even though on C5, nobody knew of him on the street or gave him exposure to other shows or channels! Where as, Eddie has made him a massive name on SkySports!

He's not that anonymous any more. He was when he was under Fat Mick but now he's on Sky with Hearn, he's doing well for himself. The fight with Bute was an enormous success for Sky and got nearly 700,000 viewers. That's a massive number.

Froch dissed Calzaghe, therefore, the Queen issued an edict: All Britons, Angles, and Saxons must despise Carl Froch!

Was because people prefferd Calzaghe over Froch, and Froch was doing a lot of trash talking to Calzaghe when Froch was up and coming.

But now after many years he has proved himself and I like him.

He also needs to be in the public eye more. So like other people have said he wasted a long part of his career being with a lesser promoter etc!

makes you wonder where froch's career might have gone if not for the jermain taylor fight, because calling out calzaghe repeatedly was not going to get him the fights he needed at that point

taylor looking for a confidence booster after his career stuttered was froch's ticket to the super six

Speak for yourself. Khan has a massive fan base and is a household name in the Uk, Froch isn't even close to a household name.

You could liken Carl Froch and his relationship to the wider public with that of Marvin Hagler in his early/mid career.

The boxing fans adored him, but he wasn't ever really a crossover star until the back end of his boxing career.

Froch's win over Bute appears to have catapulted him into a greater deal of publicity in the same way that Hagler gained from beating Hearns.

Little bit off the mark there mate.No way Chisora,Fury and Chunky are better known than Froch.
It's taken a while, but he's doing just fine. And like myself and others have mentioned,Hatton is an absolutely futile yardstick.
And Froch has respect that Amir will never have unless he beats Floyd.

He doesn't have the charisma or big name of say Haye or Amir Khan who always seem to be in the papers, there's no big buzz around his fights. He is a solid performer.
