How come Japan doesnt recognize the IBF sanction?

    Look through the IBF and WBO rankings and you won't see one Japanese fighter, it's pointless to rank them as they won't fight for the titles anyway.

    so what if you hold undisputed WBA;WBC;IBF titles? You can't defend? I think someting similar happened to TYson douglas when IBF didn't recognize him as Champion?

    Am I right?

    Well you can defend the WBA and WBC titles but not the others.
    Tyson seems an exception, probably because money talks.
    He defended his(IBF) title in Japan twice. Once succesfully over Tubbs and the other time in the loss to Douglas.

    Just checking through boxrec and I've found that 4 other IBF title fights have occured in Japan. But all come in the very early days of the IBF(83-84) and probably before the Japanese federation took any action against recognising him.
