I thought he was small for a lightweight and he only moved up for one fight.

I hope this doesn't F him up like Roy Jones

Because he artificially bulked up to welterweight!

Going down is harder at this age.

JMM is a true professional and I prefer him being honest (he surely knows his body) than doing a guzman

It probably will be hard for him to get down to lightweight again, but he's a professional and will get down. Will it affect him like it did Jones? It may do. He's 35 and has had a lot of tough fights. He had his hands full with Diaz before. I think both have slipped since that fight, but if JMM has trouble making weight there is a real danger of him losing.

(Diaz might also have trouble coming down from 140. Even though he looks like a tub of lard he said he had problems making 135)

Diaz looked a tub of lard at 138 against paulie!

He still looks like a tub of lard at 135

I don't think it will affect him in the same way it affected Jones! Jones had to shed muscle, a lot of muscle which will destroy the bodies stamina, strength etc! The body loses muscle mass as you age, which is why it is important to work out and build muscle mass as you age!! I think he will be okay!

this is a pretty obvious question. The man had to bulk up to WW in his last fight and now its hard for him to shed all that extra weight and go back down to 135. No surprise there.

Seriously? If i put on 10lbs of artificial muscle i would be able to lose it pretty easily given a few months. Obviously its different because these guys need to lose it and be in fighting shape but i just think its strange that it is that hard. He weighed in at like 142 didn't he?

the guy is getting old. Adding and losing muscle isn't easy for anyone, let alone someone in his late 30s.

I don't know if you're trying to make it seem like Marquez was not as small as people think at WW, but if that's the case then you should just give it up.

do you know how many fights Marquez has had above Super Featherweight in his entire career? The answer is 3. Two of those three were at Lightweight, and then he went up another two divisions to Welterweight to fight Mayweather.

lets not exaggerate. Marquez is still alot smarter than Diaz. He won't need to warm up this time around cause he already knows what Diaz brings to the table and everyone of Diaz' HAHAHA combinations will be countered with precision and power.

    Marquez by ownage.
