    Laila Ali seemed to want no part of Anne Wolfe. It's a shame because that could have been the greatest female boxing match of all time.

    Everyone wanted to duck Anne.
    Anne could have even been SMW champ .. but she wasn't 40 years old and couldn't get him in the ring either.

    rijker was too small.

    she was a light welter i think.

    laila and ann were super middles.

    Laila was very afraid of Wolfe. Laila said in an interview on ESPN that Wolfe was just too small for her. But yet , it was ok for here to fight Cristie Martin {sic?}

    Okay this is a little off topic, but sometime back there was chatter about Anne Wolf training Grady Brewer. As some of you know, Grady is my favorite journeyman, and I was very disappointed that the training thing did not work out. Brewer has already nicked zeros off of 4 young undefeated hopefuls. With Anne in his camp, I guarantee you he'd nick a few more before he calls it a career.

    Wolf was way out of Ali's league. But in a sport that gives fighters merit for their looks just as much as their skill, Ali was just fine coasting on the bit of skill she had and proclaiming to be the greatest ever female boxer in the sport. Most of the sports media went along with this charade, partly bc it made them some money. We do know Ali avoided Wolf because over the years she gave a number of implausible excuses not to fight her. in a sport with so few quality fighters, there should be no excuse to fight the best if you want to be called the best.

    You feel cheated as a fan when fighters duck each other. This is a fight I would have loved to have seen. Anne Wolfe would have knocked her out in one round. Ali never fought anyone with the power and aggression of Anne Wolfe.

    because anne wolfe was a real fighter and laila couldnt fight for **** and was living off her daddy's name. like she did when she was a rapper before that. thats why instead of fighting wolfe she chose to fight an old fat christy martin who was 20 pounds lighter than her.

    nice except Laila walked through the person that beat Wolfe once, and gave her hell in a trilogy. Ann Wolfe didn't want to take the 20% most likely and Laila walked.
