Lewis did try to avenge himself. It wasn't his fault McCall was in no fit state to be in the ring, and Lewis might have fought him again if McCall had done anything in the four years between their second fight in 1997 and being sent to prison in 2001 to warrent a shot but he didn't. Also, Lewis might not have been able to stop McCall - and there's likely nobody in heavyweight history who could given McCall's reputation as having one of, if not, the strongest chins ever - but he could certainly out-point him
Yes, either outcome was possible, but we never got to see what would happen because McCall was forced into the ring by King despite his mental breakdown in 1997 and never managed to get back into title contention afterwards. My point was, Lennox was ready and willing to fight McCall again despite his previous KO loss and would have been willing to fight him a third time if he got his act together and became a viable opponent.
fair enough, he was willing. that being said, i still do not consider it being avenged. just my opinion.
holyfield headbutted him. one of the worst things i have seen in boxing. looked like rahman was growing a second head from his forehead.
Because after he'd won the rematch in his fans eyes there was no reason to have a 3rd and final fight to prove who really was superior as he lost from a "LUCKY PUNCH".... Lucky punch.....didn't train properly......was 50%.....too old despite prior to the fight being like 'a fine wine, only getting better with age'..... The list of excuses is endless.
