How come Mayweather has not responded to Cotto's comments?

Floyd would beat Cotto... Cotto is not a threat to Mayweather's undefeated record. Floyd will find a way to beat him just like he found a way to beat every other opponent. There's nobody out there that could beat Floyd at 147. De La Hoya is Floyd's biggest threat and only has a chance at beating him at 154. At 147 Floyd would probably easily beat De La Hoya.

De La Hoya wanted the fight at 154 so he could push Mayweather around with the extra weight.

I'm sure Mayweather watched Cotto struggle with a past-his-prime Mosely and laughed his ass off. The only reason the fight isn't taking place now is that Mayweather wants to cash in big on DLH while he still can, before DLH retires. DLH in 2008. Cotto 2009.

So if you were offered 20 mil to participate in a staged fight you wouldn't do it?

Mayweather does not need to repond to Cotto's comments,
atleast until he is ready to do business with Miguel Cotto.
Any talk prior to is a waste of time.
Meanwhile Cotto needs to focus on Gomez and the rest of the top welters that he hasnt fought.
No one should take anything for granted.
You are only as good as your last fight.
    Example: Paul Williams

I bet everything I own that Junior will eventually fight Cotto. Too much money involved for a guy that loves money too much...

It's not that we "jokes" dont recognize Floyd's talents. The most gifted fighter since RJJ hands down. It's his attitude that ruins it for most folks. Flashing Money in the camera only sillitifies his reason for the sport. Worship that?? NEVER. Recognize his gifts?? Absolutely. Respect his decisions to fight only the highest money/lowest risk?? HELL NO.

There's no way else to look at this. This is "The Truth". Not Mayweather. His skills maybe...but not his decisions.

In an eariler post someone said, fighting a staged fight for more money than he can make in the ring, but not proving to us "doubters" against his number one (Cotto) hurts his legacy. Only those who think Floyd's "money before risk" can understand that. I think we're called old school followers of boxing and respect guys like Ali, SRR, Holmes, Mosley, who fought everyone to prove they were the best, money was second.

This new age of following boxers for image instead of the (what I call) the right reasons is what hurts boxing in general.
