Maidana was forced to wear Everlast Powerlock gloves instead of the Everlast MX gloves he wanted to wear. The MX gloves are more of a puncher's glove and Maidana said it was a difference.

It is apparently more padded than the gloves Maidana choose. If I were Maidana and Mayweather had said "Ok, I'm veeery scuuured of your punching poOoower, I want to you use these gloves so you can't hurt me m-m-much", I would've said "Ok fine, I'll sue you for breach of contract". Done! Problem solve. GG NO RE! :deal

After he felt the first Golves that the NSAC said were a no go he didnt trust the MX Gloves.

Maidana saying it was the difference is a complete Joke. How many punches did he actually land clean?? If hes saying all his power is based on them Gloves then hes a clown.

Mayweather still a punk but Maidana saying it was the difference is complete BS Too

    Maidana still crying over this?

He tried cheating the 1st time around, that's what he gets.

He used the same gloves Lucas used vs John Molina. Was Lucas crying about padded gloves?

    No

The powerlocks are a puncher's glove.

Maidana rarely got a clean shot in, would have made no difference. Absolutely none.

Was there anything wrong with the stock Cleto Reyes gloves that Floyd also rejected?

We all know Robert Garcia never wanted to wear the Cletos

He stated himself, "MY FIGHTERS ONLY WEAR EVERLAST, will not wear ANYTHING else."

    He's just bull shitting.

HAHAHAHA *****s are still in damage control. Floyd didn't want Maidana wearing those gloves because he wanted every advantage he could in this fight....Maidana still whooped his ass.

"It appears that the Maidana camp offered to compromise by wearing a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves, but Mayweather's camp objected to those as well. Reyes gloves are probably the most "puncher friendly" gloves in the top end of the boxing glove market, so it makes sense that the Mayweather camp would object to them if they were objecting to Everlast."

I don't think there is that much difference in 8 ounce gloves...they're like nothing no matter what brand you're wearing.

    All lies.

Robert Garcia, "My fighters don't wear anything else."

    It's all a lie, don't believe it.

Had the first pair been wrapped correctly and not appeared tamped with, there would have been no glove controversy. Pretty sloppy by Team Maidana. A bit extreme by Floyd for not honoring the pair the commission approved. But, it's the same commission that signed off on Margarito's wraps. So, I can see the need to micro manage that. And considering all the punches he took to the back of the head, I'd consider it a smart move.
