How come no one mentions Pavlik's shakey chin?

If Taylor is so horrible, how does he have Pavlik stumbling all over the ring in round 2? No one questions Pavlik's chin? I see a lot of posts about RJJ's "glass jaw" and now Sam Peters, what about Pavlik?

Pavlik and Peter's chins are "questionable"

Pavlik's chin isn't mentioned as much in fantasy fights as Roy Jones right now because Pavlik showed the ability to pick himself off the canvas and come right back. And he got hit something like 14-15 times in the head before going down.

Pavlik is just lucky he happens to be bigger then most of the Middleweights. Once he steps it up and goes to 168 you'll see his chin is less then average. But hey you gotta give him his props he got up and did what he had to do.

I don't know how times Kelly got knocked down. How many times did he get knocked down? Sam peter got knocked down a couple of times twice in a fight. I don't know how bad or good Kelly chin is because I haven't watch all his fights. I just know in his biggest fight he taunted Jermain and got caught with something stupid and he got knocked down.

I think the whole reason i posted this was because everytime any fighter has any moment of adversity or even loses, he's exposed. Than everyone jumps on the bandwagon of some other guy till he loses. It just seems like a lot of hating and not of lot of real fans.

Exactly. The jury is still out on Peter and Pavlik's chin - a few more fights should give us a better idea on both.

It goes back to the saying, "you're only as good as your last fight." A lot of fans go by this.

No ones mentioning his chin cause he's popular and he won. Blunt, but true.

Any fighter who gets hit with 10 full blown power punches is going down. He got careless, arrogant, and at one point looked defiant about getting hit, which was his downfall. His chin is far from questionable. Jermain Taylor was loading his punches very heavily also at the start of the fight.

True, but one initial right hand hurt him badly. I would be worried how he would hold up with an accurate and devestating puncher like Abraham. I'd say his chin is "questionable" just because there are questions out there about it still - and in future fights, we will know more about it.

To sum it up, I think he has a good chin, but questions remain. His toughness and heart cannot be put into question though.

It took 7 rounds of Taylor eating those full blown power punches before he went down, he was eating straight rights all night. And everyone acts like Pavlik went down, and just got up and kept fighting. He got knocked all over the ring the rest of the round, and at the end, when the bell sounded, he couldnt even walk back to his corner, he stumbled into the ropes and his second helped him sit.

Pavlik get hits with bombs all the time. I think his chin and especially his recoupartive abilities are pretty solid.

I think, like Cotto, he has a dentable chin and will be ko'ed one day by somebody. Whether thats in his prime or not we will have to wait and see.

Pavlik took more than a few hard shots from Edison Miranda and plenty of hard shots from Taylor as well. He's got a very strong chin.

What made the 2nd round different was that Pavlik got careless and Taylor surprised him with his handspeed and power. It's always the punches you don't see coming that do the most damage.

Taylor taught Pavlik a valuable lesson in that 2nd round. Pavlik didn't make that mistake again and Taylor never really had him hurt for the rest of the fight. Thanks to Taylor he'll be an even harder opponent to hurt in the future.

It takes times to recover from being knocked down.Even if you have a great chin if some1 hit you hard enough it's gonna take time to recover. I don't think questioning his chin when he hurt and he was trying to recover. I think questioning his chin is that right hand that hurt him not when he's trying to recover.
