I see people shitting on carl froch for getting knocked down by JT
People shitting on JT for getting koed by Pav and Froch
And people shitting on Dirrell for getting rocked by some palooka

But what about ward. IF i remember correctly he got knocked down by some no hoper, haters were all over him for it....

After checking boxrec, It was darnell Boone. A journey man with 6 ko's out of 16 wins..... Now im not saying that ward has a bad chin, but kess has 32 kos out of 42 win's, and he WILL land on ward. I wonder if ward has a good chin, if he dosent, it will be all over and over fast!!

I thought the last guy kessler fought was a total stiff, but then i saw ward fight that can. Wow, the guy barley even tried :-( I think he landed 1 right hand, i was also amazed that he was an acomplished amatuer???? Then i went on box rec and found out this guy was a complete tomato can :huh

And it took ward 3 rounds to take this guy out :rofl

Im sorry guys, but the ward lovefest on this site is getting ridiculous. Kess edges out ward in power, experience, and most likley chin. Their simalarly skilled, and ward just edges him in speed.

    Ward is getting KOED :hi:

Lol whos the fool who said wards the favorite of the tourney???

Ward got a good chin. He took a big right hand by Miranda flush in the chin and it didn't bother Ward.

After he fights Kessler, Ward's chin will be questioned by many!

Two of them, if i remember correctly. Its a testament to both Wards chin, that such a big puncher landed and didn't phase him, and his defense, that he only allowed two big ones to slip through the entire fight.

I was watching the replay on Ward vs Miranda yesterday on showtime too and when Miranda land a big right hand flush on Wards chin, Ward answer back with a left hook that bother Miranda. It sucks that many here didn't give Ward his credit for the way he easily beat Miranda.

I wouldnt rate miranda as highly as others here do. Miranda has been exposed people. He used to be thought of as this scary big puncher, and decent fighter after the 1st abraham fight.

But ill say that miranda was a hype job. His power, isnt very effective at the top levels of boxing. He couldnt take out a guy with a broken jaw. He also dosent have much of a heart (fouls when losing). His chin also isnt very good either.

Miranda's best wins are a shot howard eastman, and an overrated green. Also, his best win is actually a loss to abraham :-(

Besides, ward straight up RUIZ'd the **** out of miranda. I dont get how people **** on wlad klit and bhop for hugging, but when ward holds his way to a boring ass win vs miranda, hes seen as an impressive boxer :patsch

Boring as win? You obviously don't appreciate boxing skills. Was Ward holding? yes but he didn't hold way too much that Ruiz does many times and Ruiz don't have boxing skills. Ward box perfectly. Ward even sometime traded with Miranda and got the better of Miranda.

Ward's chin is mediocre, but Boone isn't a bad fighter. He's just a bad finisher. He's one of those guys you look at and think, if he could box full time and had a promoter behind him, he could have been a serious contender. Tough as nails and good skills, just doesn't throw enough punches. One of Kelly Pavlik's main sparring partners.

I respect wards win and his skills, but yea it was pretty ****ing boring. Especially because i feel that ward didnt need to do the holding, he could have just boxed him and maybe even got a stoppage.

The only time your supposed to hold is
    A. You just got rocked and your dizzy

    B. Your ****ing exhausted

I didnt see ward holding because of either of these reason. Ward was holding to tire miranda out, because he wasnt sure if he could handle his power.

I dont like when wlad kilt does it either, thats why i call those win's boring.

Listen i appreciate a good boxing match, otherwise i wouldnt watch mayweather fights. But to be honest, i perfer constant backing up and potshotting over holding wheenver the other guy gets close.

You also clinch to disrupt a fighters momentum and stop them from getting off the inside Hopkins uses clinching very intelligently I won't argue clinching is boring as hell as when they do it as much as Ruiz **** em goto another sport but It is a part of boxing and is used for more than surviving once hurt or exhausted.

    ^^^

Fighters just don't hold when they're hurt or tired, its can be used as a tool in disrupting a fighters momentum. Mosley held Margarito profusely in their January bout to keep him from building any kind of momentum, something Cotto shouldve done. Would you call that fight boring? It can be as effective as a jab in keeping the other guy off his gameplan.

Yeah Boone isn't that bad. I know his record looks horrible but if you actually watch him he's a lot classier than his stats suggest.

Just looks like a guy that was matched tough early in his career, never caught a break, and lost his hunger and desire to win fights. He's just looking to survive now and pick up a payday. When he puts his work together he is decent.

Not that its at all a good thing to be put on your ass by him, but **** happens. I don't think its enough to say Ward has a **** chin.
