How come Pac gets more credit for ODLH than Joe gets for BHop?

probably because pac moved up in weight to fight ODLH. and not only did he simply move up, he basically jumped 3 divisions to WW and WHOOPED ODLH's ass. past his prime or not, still definitely a more dangerous fight than JC vs. BHOP.

Uli...even if that is the truth it was the perception of about 90% of everyone in the world that this was not going to be a win for PAC. No matter what. He was the HUGE underdog in this fight and NO ONE really gave him a chance. He proved a lot of people wrong including myself who had DLH winning by KO somewhere in the mid to late rounds. PAC did a great job in beating DLH whether or not he was weight drained or shot. He did his job and he did so in dominating fashion.

Wow....didn't read that before but I've said it before.....We don't know if DLH was weight drained or not. BY MOST ACCOUNTS....By DLH NOT BALLOONING up in weight on fight night that speaks to his conditioning being on point. Of course DLH didn't look like he was in the best condition in terms of how he perfromed, but physically he looked great! But PAC could have been the sole reason DLH looked terrible as Nacho, his trainer for the fight mentioned.

Do you have a link or source?

Because Pacquiao thoroughly beat Oscar, gave him a proper beatdown. It was very much a conclusive victory. On the other hand, Calzaghe's wins over Hopkins was highly contested, it could have gone either way & Calzghe could not have moaned had it gone to Hopkins!

For what its worth, I think Hopkins beat Calzaghe, but that's the way it goes sometimes!

Pacquiao emphatically destroyed Oscar, whereas Calzaghe on the night was dropped in round 1, made to look an amateur at times, couldn't dictate the fight, was frustrated all night long, and won a decision which a lot of people think he didn't deserve.

That I think is the difference

    are you really rico's uncle??

and yeah, pretty much agree on all points.

calzaghe didn't do much than barely outwork an old hopkins

pac DESTROYED a faded oscar. oscar was **** but sometimes is how you beat someone as much as who you beat

And besides, people rarely give credit to Pac anyway.

99% of the time you will hear "Oscar was severely weight drained and all Pac did was beat a shell of a once great fighter". The most people will agree to was that it was a fight that put Pac among the big draws of boxing.

Whereas beating Bhop is considered as one of Joe's better wins. At least that's the impression I get here in the forums.

Nah mate, I'm not Rico's uncle, I'm just Uncle Rico :hat

Erm...just a little I suppose. He gave B Hop a good fight, pushed him close and was at times a tricky customer. But in my honest view, and I think alot of people out there will agree (including Joe's dad), he didn't do enough to win that fight. Unless of course you're impressed by relentless pitter patter punches (or slaps if you prefer) that land on shoulders, arms and gloves. But then you have to ask yourself, is boxing scored upon quantity? Or Quality?
