The simple answer is they fight their mandatory fighters rather than vacating so they don't have too.

 

Don't compare Wlad(someone who is cleaning up the division) to Pavlik("the Hopkins fight shouldn't count"). Anyways, both guys fight their mandatories besides didn't Dawson drop his belt instead of fighting the mandatory which would have been Diaconu?

 

They almost did strip Pavlik until he faced his mando. But really, if the guy is a good champ who is relatively active and a good enough name, they tend not to be so *******ish about ripping their title away whenever they hit a rough patch, which Pavlik did with his health and Wladimir sort of hit when Haye jerked him around and he got injured. If they have someone they want to have the title more and they have even the slightest reason, the title goes bye-bye. Just fickle bull****.

He's got The Ring, IBF and WBO titles.

Believe it or not, I think he respects the IBO title and is loyal to it. Pacquiao held the IBO title at LWW too. The IBO may be just another young ABC title but it's picking up some credibility...considering the WBA and WBC continue to lose theirs.

I'm just saying he has the 3 most credible (depending on who you ask) major titles, he doesn't really need to hold on to the IBO strap.

 

I understand that, but that's why I'm saying I think he must respect it and wish to be loyal to it. But at one time, we had the generally recognized heavyweight champion of the world holding the IBO strap and the p4p consensus number one holding it. That's pretty good cred.
