How come the Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko fight didn't go to the scorecards if it went 6 rounds?

Wlad having a better chin than Lewis is a joke. Only one of them got stopped 4 times in their career, and it wasn't Lewis. There's a reason Wlad had to use a jab 'n' grab style. Haye rocked Wlad with the only solid punch he landed in the whole fight.

If you believe that then ok, but what point are you actually trying to make?

The midget referee was the worst and lost control allowing Lewis to foul repeatedly by holding and grazing. Vitali was definitely not served well by that guy. You are not allowed to hold an opponent around the neck and pull them into grazing punches which Lewis did in every clinch.

    You weren't wrong.

Just prior to the stoppage, the momentum had indeed shifted in Lewis' favor, with VK's efforts having become less and less effective.

That's my recollection, I should still give it another watch as it was a good scrap.

    This shits boring..

Vitali lost. Cuts.. I think he probably would have nicked a rematch with more prep but it never happened so just move on...

No. Lewis had punched himself out having thrown everything at Vitali.. he even stated in an interview he pretty much collapsed onto his stool completely spent after that last round when he'd failed to put him away.. if they'd have come out again I'm not sure Lewis would have much left but then again vitalis face couldn't take much more either

Lennox’s mum told him she didn’t want him to take with rematch with Vitali.

Another thread attempting to change history.....maybe the 50th such one involving Vitali v Lewis!! The result will always be the same.....what happened in rounds 1, 2, 3 or 4 make zilch difference. Vitali was stopped on cuts.....Lewis decided his hundreds of millions was sufficient to retire on

    I just rewatched it
Lewis is almost 38 here and a career high 256 1/2. Vitali is 248. Lennox at the longest layoff of his career of 377 days

    Klitchsko 32-1 31 KOs
    Lewis 40-2-1 31 KOs

    Round 1
Both guys getting physical as they have to be broken up most of the round. Klitchsko lands about 3 nice right hands off the jab. Lewis ends the round with an overhand and an uppercut.
    10-9 Klitchsko

    Round 2
All klitchsjo, wow he staggers Lewis all over the ring this round. Lewis gets a hard jab in midway through the round and a few eights towards the end, but Klitchsko just beat Lewis to the punch and had Lennox on wobbly legs. Crowd is HYPED.
    10-9 Klitchsko
    20-18 Klitchsko

    Round 3
Lewis comes alive and starts landing on Klitchsko and we got the beginning of the bad cut on Klitchsko's eyelid. This is a slugfest, both guys landing shots, blood streaming from Vitalis face (right hand did it).
    10-9 Lewis
    29-28 Klitchsko

    Round 4
Pace has slowed, Lewis jabbing better, Klitchsko still landing punches but both guys look tired, Klitchsko engaging clinches this round, eye is getting worse, but he outhustles Lewis
    10-9 Klitchsko
    39-37 Klitchsko

    Round 5
Lewis at one point just blasts Klitchsko to the body with like 8 hooks while Vitali is walking him to the ropes in a clinch, it looks brutal. Klitschko's eye getting bad now
    10-9 Klitchsko
    49-46 Klitchsko

    Round 6
Both guys look exhausted, Klitchsko from the pace, Lewis from being out of shape coming in to the fight. Massive uppercut almost takes Vitali's head off. Round ends with Klitschko holding on as he eats a few hard shots
    10-9 Lewis
    58-56 Klitchsko

Both guys look exhausted as the fight ends. Lewis was figuring out Klitchsko but he was just not in shape for this fight to capitalize on it like he should. Vitali had the unfortunate luck of his face getting cut from Lewis' punches, but that's what happened. I'm kind of bummed for Vitali because he did deserve a rematch, but Lewis had enough of boxing.
Also, that cut was done via punches, not Lewis' hair btw

It wasn’t Lennox’s wife, it was his mum. People confuse his wife for his mum in the story because they’re both named Violet.

Lewis won 2 out of the 6 completed rounds from memory, and the ridiculous uppercut Lewis hit Vitali with in the 6th round, the momentum seemed to be with Lewis at that point.
