That may be true, but the fact is in this fight Kovalev did the majority of the fouling. Lets not forget about the low blow in the 12th round that seemed to swing momentum and may have lost him the fight.

The irony of it was he was saying pre-fight how he was gonna drag Ward into a street fight, but yet in the referee instructions in the locker room expressed concern about Ward fouling him specifically headbutting him. Any way you slice it, it seemed that Kovalev's actions went against what he had set out to do in the fight.

Totally agree about going into the trenches, when has it ever meant pot shotting and throwing oneself into the opposition to wrestle,a rematch could be awful to watch as it means Ward would be doing it from round one.
Let's be honest here though,we all knew the judges were gonna favour Ward,it wasn't as bad as Canelos judges as they wouldn't have given SK any rounds save round two but nonetheless as soon as the fight went the full twelve I just knew in my heart that it would go to Ward

tbh even if you somehow scored the fight to ward, by giving him every single close rounds, even the ones where kovalev was doing better, all your saying is he won the fight by making it a terrible fight, he isn't a master boxer he is a master spoiler who bring opponents down to he's level by making the fight terrible.

id kovalev winning easily., and this is coming froma guy who taight ward would outbox him.

infact if kovalev won id be facing a one month ban bet, but i still think he won easy

Yep absolutely and like I said imagine if GGG fought that way or Canelo,Ward has amazing skill and fast hands but chooses in big fights to spoil every round,I guarantee nobody else in boxing would win using those tactics as the ref would dock em and the judges wouldn't be impressed either.

not a hope, with neutral judges he wouldn't have had a chance, what happened to the challenger really have to beat the champion? not do **** all spoil the fight and get a soft decision.

he used them tactics because he is not as good as kovalev, he felt the power, realised he was in a world of trouble, so he spoiled the fight tried to make the rounds close by running and wrestling and punching on the insdie(which some gave him creedit for lol). He basically did what any boxer does when they realise they are in against someone better than them, he then got a decision he didnt deserve

going into round 10, hunter said to ward, you need these 4 rounds, he lost round ten at teh very least and possibly the last 3. going into round 12 hunter said you need a knockout to win. Does that sound like a corner that thinks he won the fight?

and anyone who says, ' oh well trainers say that to try and get extra effort out of there fight' against kovalev thats nonsense, if you taught it was 50-50 going into the last round and you were winning rounds with your boxing, you would say just go out and do the same, why say, go out there and go for the knockout(when your fighter has no power) and try leave yourself open against a guy with huge power.

hunter and ward deep down know they lost that fight but wont admit it

good point,I actually thought Ward looked a bit embarrassed to get the decision as he's never been involved in anything remotely close, hell even Max Kellerman questioned him about him looking glum before the decision and Ward brushed it off saying I don't know what gave you that impression, deep down the good boxers know when they've won or lost even in the heat of battle,I always admired Floyd for having rematches in fights that in his heart he thought he'd lost?
