i mean, i dont no about er'body else, but... i'd much rather see 24/7 with mosley n cotto.. then with any otha of the 07' superfight's fighters... i dont know, maybe it's just cause i'm not a big fan of mayweather, but of all the fights this ones the one i care most about, is it just me or wutt?
I would like to see a 24/7 for Mosley-Cotto as well, but I think it wouldn't be as appealing as neither are characters like Mayweather, who is a trash talking hyperactive guy and Hatton who is very fun and witty.
Mosley vs Cotto is a fight for the hardcore fan base, Mayweather vs Hatton is a mainstream boxing show but I am not judging on each of the four fighters or predicting that one fight will be more entertaining than the other. Mosley and Cotto are low key, quite in short contrast to Floyd and Ricky who can produce magnificent lines to entertain who enjoys that sort of show like 24/7 - maybe there's a rational reason and the UK/US thang.
well.... ya'll prolly right.. i feel you,... guess cotto should go on dancing with da stars next year... and mosley be a judge on America's next top model... maybe den i can get what i want...
Because the upside on Hatton-Mayweather is a lot higher in the terms of PPV buys that would be added on by doing a 24/7 show. Cotto-Mosley: One guy uncomfortable speaking English Cotto-Mosley: Neither are polarizing personalities. Both are nice guys. There won't be much controversy generated over a 4 week period. Cotto isn't that well known yet. Let's say the base for this fight is around 300,000 PPV buys. If they were to do a 24/7 show, would they really add on more than another 50,000 to 100,000 buys? Hatton and Mayweather are both interesting personalities. Floyd is going to start crap and be an interesting camp to watch. He was just on Dancing with the Stars which will probably add PPV buys You have the rabid fan base British background with Hatton Hatton is interesting as well with his down home, eating and drinking fun personality Mayweather just did 2 million buys in the De La Hoya fight. Lets say a base for this fight is somewhere in the 500,000 to 600,000 PPV buy range. You add in all the additional publicity with the British fan base, DWTS for Floyd, the interesting personalities, Floyd just coming off of a 2 million buy fight, and realistically, you could be looking at maybe 1 million buys as an upside number for this fight if they promote it right.
I love Cotto to death but have you ever seen the guy in interviews? He is pretty much a robot. As much as interviewers try to get him to call out someone, anyone..he NEVER does. He always responds "Whoever the company thinks is best for me and puts in front of me, I will fight." Hes not very charismatic. Mosley is a gentlemen as well. None of these guys are trash talkers....which creates controversy, builds a fight, and gets more casual fight fans to plop down $50 for a fight.
Spot on. I'm waiting for Cotto to lose it and start talking some ****. Paulie was able to bring some **** talk out of Cotto(he said he would send Paulie back to the hole he came from). No one else has been able to get to him. I think if he fought Mayweather, that would change.
true true.. ya'll about on point with da last 2 comments... with da numbers and "Robot Cotto".. neva really thougt about that, i just wanted to see them train compared to there antics and shananagins (how you spell that?)... guess i should of looked at it as a casual fan's perspective... good look
