How come they never interview the Judges?

Agree. . . It's like them wanting to protect themselves just in case the judges say something, and then a hearing is held, and they could use what the judge, or ref said against them. . . (Remember a few times where ref declined interview cause of the commission as well)

It's bullshyt. . . The commission knows exactly what the damn deal is. . . The promotors control the show. . .

    Exactly!
Short of hoards of boxing fans showing up at the Governors office to in protest to get rid of and revamp its whole athletic commision, any protest sent directly to a corrupt State Athletic Commision falls on deaf ears.

The one time there was real public outcry over a bad decision was after the Holyfield-Lewis draw.
It just so happened that Senator John McCain took interest in it and there were hearings about bad decisions in the senate.

Boxing took note of such hearings and made certain Lennox Lewis got the benefit of any round from their judges that could remotely be viewed as close and gave them to Lennox Lewis.
As a result, a razor close fight that many thought Holyfield edged, went wide to Lennox Lewis on the official cards.
A makeup call so to speak, and the hounds from the senate of the US were called off. :-(

How about getting the 3 judges to announce there own scorecards at the end of the fight or at least have them standing in the ring next to the fighters when they are announced.

    :lol::lol::lol:
I'd be content to just have the judges come out on a conference type call with the public media a week after the fight.

Lets be real here. Its certainly unfair to have judges go under scrutiny right after a close fight.
I think its more than fair to give these judges a week to prepare their explanations as to why they called particular rounds for one fighter of another.

There should be some kind of law that any judge or ref has to answer to the decisions they make. Giving them time to prepare their explanation is more than fair imo.

Dont know if you saw the FNF episode on were Emmanuel Agustas was robbed when he fought Courtney Burton...Atlas had the opportunity to interview one of the crooked judges and he gave him a mouth full...I wish they would let more commentators do this...Its very well needed with some of the bull**** scorecards that are put out!

My favorite Teddy moment, by far. IMO, his signature moment on FNF.

He was pretty much tried to justify himself on why he gave the fight to Burton (it was a clear win for Emmanuel Augtus) The dumbass judge even admitted that he scored the fight wrong...He gave them a mouthful!:rofl

When you get a chance...Go to youtube and type in " Teddy Atlas gets pissed" (cant post the video because I'm at work.)

Thats the clip of him telling the judge that he was wrong and he should be suspended...This is one of Atlas' finest moments.:good

We need more interviews with the judges IMO if its a clear robbery!

I say make it common practice for the judges to get interviewed after fights; every fight. Even if it is a clear one-sided fight, a quote or two from the judges might by useful.

Why they have to read a prepared statement one week after the fight? They didn't need a week to judge the fight...

I've brought this up before and think that if the judges aren't gonna at least get interviewed, they should at least make it so they make a bigger deal out of who is judging the fights. Instead of flashing their names at the bottom of the screen for 5 seconds, put up a picture of each one tho so they think twice before selling out. Its easier for people to remember a face and after a couple of bad scorecards they will be ruining their reputation.
