Just curious , i've seen their demands and cross-promotion is an absolute impossibility for Zuffa...Dana said that they tried "everything"...Apparently not.

If Vadim's demands are way out of line how come all other org owners accepted M1's conditions ?

Ok , maybe a co-promotion with affliction was "the" best option for T-shirt guy since affliction was counting on fed's reputation to make an impact in the mma scene...

But both Bodog & pride fc existed before fedor...How come they never had any problems with M1 ? ...

I do understand Dana's position...Why bother right ? after all , they made mma hugely popular in the united states and don't need to co-promote with anybody...they have the monopoly of the sport.. and it would be too easy for M1 to just ask for 50/50 since they're nobodies in the united state...

But Dana said several times that he's doing it for the fans. (i personally think it's utter bull****...he just realises that Lesnar vs Fedor would be one of the biggest fight in mma history).... However , why not accept a 1 fight deal ?...

Let's just have Lesnar & Fed...No matter who wins , Fed goes back to japan or strikeforce (or whatever org M1 will be associated with)...Once the fight is over and end of story...

If Lesnar wins , he'll get rid of the "fedor" dilema....and if Fedor wins , so what ?...Just imagine how ****ing huge this fight would be ? Sure it would kill lesnar's credibility as "the champ"....

But the fans will not suddenly ignore Lesnar...It's kinda like the Kimbo phenomena....people like kimbo for his persona and he's still a "cash cow"...(why do you think dana still accepted him at TUF ? )...

And afterall , it's not like it would be a first for the UFC...

( 2004 , Penn goes to the ufc to fight Matt Hughes...Owns him , then goes back to japan in K1 )...Yeah Dana was supremely pissed at the time but Matt went on to accumulate 6 straight wins after that...and everything was forgotten)...Matt was still marketable as a champ...

So why not do an exception with Lesnar vs Fedor ?...Sure it's risky for a promoter but at the same time , a fight like this would be monumental and break ppv records...

Well, Bodog is now bankrupt, Affliction is finished and when he was with Pride I don't believe he was with Finkel. He leaves these org's in such bad shape after his demands are met. Maybe Dana isn't that stupid.

Everybody was praising Elite XC because they had a tv deal, well it depends on how the deal was made if it's possible to make money or not. Fedor was payed 1.3million signing bonus, 300,000 for affliction banned and whatever % of profit money they got from the shows....it was almost impossible for Affliction to make money with Finkel.

What alot of people still need to understand is that Fedor still isn't a big ppv draw in north America yet. The Affliction banned card which was a great card only got 150,000 ppv buys which is not very good considering the card they had.

I think if strikeforce should co-promote with Finkel that they will put themselves in financial trouble. They will have to give Fedor a big salary give Finkel a % of the profits...if there is any and not to mention who are they going to market Fedor to fight against.

Strikeforce has slowly been putting together some good shows and has become a quality org but I fear signing Fedor could spell disater if Finkel get's his hands on co-promotion.

Obviously there is a going theme with those promotions... isn't there? Seems like possibly they make bad business decisions?

    They had nothing to lose.

They all went belly up, they no longer exist.

Tell you something about this guys idea of "co promotion" doesn't it?

Although not a very likely thing to happen, i think a co-promotion between m-1 and ufc could work, i only think this would work if the ufc let m-1 in a little bit of the us side of things but gave them alot of control over the europe side of things. The ufc looks keen to branch out into europe and surely having m-1 help them out in that side of things its becomes more than just a deal about fedor.

well why doesn't M1 hold their own shows sign some big names and have others co-promote with them.? Because it's easier to use Fedor and coattail other orgs and let them take most of the risk while they only stand to gain. Finkel is an ******* but he isn't stupid I just hope strikeforce doesn't become his next victim.
