As i remembered Lamon Brewster was Sanders title challenger but Sanders wanted a bigger fight and dropped the Titel for a fight with Vitali.
Sanders and Wladimir lost there title fights in spring 2004.
In december 2004 a total out of shape Sanders KO'ed Alexey Varakin in austria after that fight he retired for 2 years.

he had zero footwork then, no movement, no bouncing. just plodding in. i wish sanders had been same age so wlad could demolish him now.

No it was the Jones fight that never happened is why Sanders was stripped of the belt that Brewster and Wlad fought for.

Sanders took 980k to fight Vitali instead. Who could blame him?

This sums up my feelings too. Wlad fights roughly the same, just more refined and experienced. He uses his jab more, clinches a whole lot more and has limited his punch variety somewhat to protect his weaknesses.

Sanders would always beat Wlad I think, even this current Wlad. He just has his number.

Getting an immediate rematch isn't always the best route or easily possible.

Sanders could seriously turn on the heat which is a nightmare for any version of Wlad.

Cause Wlad lost all credibility after brewster then by the time he regained it sanders was gone

if wlad beat sanders in 05 or 06 it wouldnt have meant anything

that would be like tyson getting out of prison and beating the mid 90's version of buster douglas

would anybody have cared about that

Sanders is all wrong for Wlad. He took vitali's legs with a left hook as well and was very dangerous first three but then he gassed.

Sanders bothers to train then he takes any version of Wlad.
