How competitive would Cleveland Williams be against Bowe?

Bowe had no way to know
that Cleve had a trick up his sleeve
it wasn't exactly text book
that leaping left hook
but it did knock Bowe all the way down to the front row
Cleveland by KO!!!!!!!!

 

It would be like the Bert cooper fight. Quick ko for bowe

 

Yeah man, Bowe wouldn't like facing a fast handed power punching combo machine like Williams ... but if he had to, I think he'd blow Williams' glassbulb chin to bits sooner rather than later. Bowe had the heart to slug it out and he'd pound out a lil' un like Williams every time. Back to cruiser, Cleveland!

 

You think Williams hit harder than Bowe?

 

Bowe didn't face that many of the notable Heavyweight hitters of the 90s outside of Herbie Hide. Who was a blown up Cruiserweight and he had Bowe on jelly legs a few times.

Williams was a pretty big hitter with a mean left hook which Bowe was vulnerable to. And he wasn't that small 6'2, 215 with an 80 inch reach.

Williams probably rocks Bowe early and maybe drops him as Bowe didn't have the greatest defence in the world.

But Bowe weather's the early storm and stops Williams in the middle rounds.

 

I think Cleve would be competitive for as long as it lasted. Bowe was hittable, and Williams could get out of the blocks quickly.

Without overthinking it though, I tend to think Williams against higher regarded punchers would likely go as it did with Liston.

 

Williams and Mr. Hide was about the same size

 

Bowe would win by KO in under four rounds.

 

Williams was more imposing and had a signicantly longer reach than Hide.

 

If he didn't there wouldn't be much between them.

 

If Bowe is in shape and motivated then he makes it a short night. Williams would probably land a few big shots before being stopped

 

I think that Williams would give him hell to be honest.

It would probably be in a losing effort, but I woudl be expecting a good fight.

 

One thing to consider, Williams fought the beast Sonny Liston twice and he actually fought the man,,,,,
Bowe , in the most shameless duck in history avoided the best fighter he could have fought Lennox Lewis..
