How Cotto will beat Clottey!

he actually reminds me of a poor mans winky....still top of the line though

 

I agree,Cotto is probably gonna outbox him.Clottey's workrate is horrible,he covers his head good and leaves his body way to open and his footwork is on par with the Statue of Liberty.And altough his counter hooks work good with his usual opponents,Cotto's defense and body movement should dismiss them.But Cotto ain't stopping him.

 

not a bad assessment. It really depends on Clotteys gameplan.

 

Hey p4p, you one of my favorite posters in here, but you dont think Cotto has better boxing skills then Clottey. Clottey has the better defense and better chin, but when it comes to letting there hands go I think Cotto is a lot better then Clottey. Whats you take on it?

I think Clottey does have a great shot. 2 cupcakes in his last 3 fights doesnt get you ready for a boxer like Clottey.

I can't believe he praises someone with sloppy boxing skills like Williams but then laughs at Cottos, hes just a hater.

I think Cotto is a harder puncher, a more active puncher, I'll give him the nod in the punching department. But Clottey does pick his shots better than Cotto, its just that he doesnt throw as much as Cotto does. But as far as defense, Clottey kills Cotto in this category. Ring generalship, ring intelligence, all go to Clottey. Chin - Clottey.

 

Williams defense is leaky, just like Cotto's. I don't praise Williams, you better check around. I gave PW fans hell for pumping up Verno.

 

Clottey picks his shots well cause he doesnt throw enough. But Cotto is also a very accurate fighter going forward and even backing up. He hit Margo very well when he was backing up. He also had Shane's head snapping back during the last rounds while going backwards. I think he brings more to the tanle then Clottey.

I agree both got leaky defense
But Cotto's defense > William's :yep

 

He was able to hit Shane cause Shane was stalking him too much and trying to hurt him, SSM wasn't displaying his best defense in those last 4 rounds. And its easy to hit a guy like AM while on the backfoot. But if you're getting tagged at the same time, you better switch it up. Clottey counters very well and has very good defense. Cotto's gonna get all kinds of points and the fans are gonna go crazy when his shots hit Clottey's gloves and arms. Like I said, this fight is gonna look like PBF vs DLH. It looks close from a far, but when you really pay attention, you'll see it wasn't even close. Competitive yes, but close, no!

 

Nah, not really. I'd say there defense's are about the same. PW has the better reflexes.
