correction: he's about the size of clottey. that was what i meant. i was responding to another post about clottey being a big welterweight.

 

Ummm... No he's not.

He may be almost the same height, but Clottey will go in that ring at least 165 solid, maybe close to 170.

 

Clottey is a HUGE welter, he comes in at 170 or something like that.

 

Clottey weighs 166-170 fight night..Clottey has a much bigger chest than Cotto...Clottey is a big WW..Height got nothing to do with anything.

If your 5'10 and im 5'9 and we weigh the same that don't mean your bigger than me at all!:bart

 

I think Clottey batters Cotto into retirement.

 

If Cotto trys to play a counter-punch chess game with Clottey, Clottey will win via UD or Late TKO.

For Cotto to win he has to fight outside his character a bit, take some notes from Clottey's fight with Margo, and be the effective agressor throughout the entire fight and force Clottey to stay in the defensive shell which he does too often on his own accord.

This is the key. He's going to have to use his superior footspeed and press the action really hard in the early rounds and try to build a lead. He's just not gonna be able to bully Clottey and wear him down with the body attack.:nono

Only one problem, if he gases in the late rounds, he might be seeing stars at the end of the fight

Clottey has to do exactly what he's claimed he will do and that's jump on Cotto and fight aggressively.
